⚠️ people appreciation post ⚠️

This has been a very difficult year for me. It was filled with many highs and lows that tested my personal resilience and the strength of the relationships in my life. I’ve spent a lot of time in self reflection and creating new systems in my life that will propel me forward. Being able to depend on yourself is a great skill to have, but means nothing if you don’t have incredible interpersonal relationships. Thank you to all the wonderful people in my life pictured and not pictured—I am so thankful for my family, friends, and colleagues I have the pleasure of joining with on this journey.

The hardest thing this year was losing my grandmother. I was very close with her and have been my entire life. She has always accepted me for who I am and advocated for me in times of need—even if they were my own mistakes. She was a pillar in my life and always will be whether she’s physically with us or floundering about the universe. The two last pictures are both shortly before she passed. In the second to last, she wanted to wear my Rainier hat and show it off. Unknowingly, that was the last time I was able to laugh with her. The final picture is her a couple days before she passed. I was able to read her a final goodbye letter, which was beautiful and frightening at the same time but was quite frankly one of the most beautiful sendoffs one could have. I will forever be a piece of her and will always do my best to honor her. May my grandmother rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing.
