Funny, but true stories. Sometimes, the things people say to caregivers to help them feel better, just come out wrong. It may not be intentional, but it can be misunderstood.

A few things to consider:
•  Don’t pity us or be so sorry about “this”, we still are privileged to love beautiful human beings with all of their complexities.

•  God does give caregivers more than they can handle, and we learn to lean on Him for everything.

•  Most caregivers didn’t ask to carry the weight of another, but we are indeed the toughest superheroes willing to show up.

• Caregivers know and accept that we are being entrusted with an awesome responsibility, whether we can always handle it or not.

•  Praying a disability away would make our loved one a different human being. But yes, most of us have prayed that prayer more times than you can even imagine. Rest assured, we have prayed. Disabilities and rare genetic disorders just don’t get prayed away. We accept the gifts and the challenges as a part of life.

•  Even though caregivers know our lives are hard, that doesn’t mean we want “this” to be “over” and to be without our loved one.

All of us walk lives that require grace. Let’s learn how to speak with love and compassion as if we were walking in a caregiver’s shoes. When in doubt, just say nothing. Silence may be all that’s needed in difficult spaces.

This summer, Peppa Pig Theme Park DFW is offering fun new experiences, like the “Pig Family Travel Adventure”, which features a Passport full of stops to make on your journey through the park! This place is truly family friendly and has thought of everything to make your life easier… Here’s what to know before you go! ⤵️

📍parking is easy & plentiful right outside the entrance
📍feel free to bring a backpack, water bottle, diaper bag, stroller etc… there’s no clear bag/bag size restrictions!
📍it’s super easy if your kiddos just go ahead & wear their swimsuit. It made hopping in the splash pad at the end of our day quick & easy!
📍the park is not huge! You can almost see the entire space from anywhere you are standing. It’s a great size for littles (& for Mom’s chasing littles 😜) and the walking distance is not bad at all!
📍Miss Rabbit’s diner is on site (and air conditioned 👀) and features alllll the 5 year old crowd favorites (think Mac & cheese, pizza, chicken nuggets, apple slices etc)
📍there are designated changing areas for diaper changes and changes of clothes at both the water park and general restroom area!
📍not a lot of shade, so make sure & plan for that!
📍the Theater is a perfect place to cool (and calm) down. It’s air conditioned, dim lighting, & has tables to sit at or mats to lay down on & watch a Peppa Pig episode (while Mom nurse’s baby brother or just takes a mental break etc 😆)

-Peppa’s Music and Arts Festival (July 2-July 23)
-Peppa’s Storybook Celebration (July 24-Aug 16)
