Did anyone else have that cringe realization that Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Girls era was kinda… racist? Like yeah, she was clearly showing love for Harajuku culture and had a genuine appreciation for it but the way she packaged it gives me such a weird feeling now, because I used to eat that era up, music, fashion, all of it

🗳️🇺🇸 IT’S ELECTION NIGHT! And what better time to revisit one of my FAVORITE government thrillers… HOMELAND! 👀🍿

Espionage, government conspiracies, political drama, questionable decisions, and enough plot twists to give you trust issues with EVERYONE. 😭💀

If there’s one thing Homeland taught me, it’s that NOTHING is ever as simple as it seems. 🕵️‍♀️

Have y’all watched Homeland?

Can we PLEASE talk about how Twitches (2005) starring Tia and Tamera Mowry had one of the BEST premises for a Disney Channel Halloween movie?! 😭🔮✨

Two long-lost twin witches, separated at birth, discovering their magical powers, a mysterious kingdom, dark forces, family secrets, and an entire magical bloodline?!
THE LORE WAS LORING.

But the execution??? Baby… we need to have a conversation. 💀😭

Twitches deserved a bigger budget, deeper world-building, and a whole lot more magic.
Still a Halloween CLASSIC though. 🎃

Been whimsymaxxing since 2022. This ain’t nothing new. 🎀🧚🏽‍♀️✨

Now that whimsymaxxing is suddenly having its moment, I keep seeing these aesthetics pop up on my feed like… wait a damn minute. Y’all are JUST now getting here??? 😭

I’ve been dressing like a side character in a magical girl anime for YEARS.

But now that the general public has decided whimsy is back on the menu, I figured I’d pull some receipts from the archives. 💅🏽

And if you don’t like it, you simply don’t got whimsy.

A little throwback to when I was whimsymaxxing at MomoCon. 🧚🏽‍♀️✨💕

Now suddenly everybody wants to be whimsical because whimsymaxxing is trending. Baby, whimsymaxxing is practically my last name. This ain’t nothing new over here.

But since everybody’s finally embracing a little whimsy, let’s PROTECT THE WHIMSY GIRLS AT ALL COSTS🎀🦋

Some people are already getting into spooky season, but personally, I don’t think it’s ever too early. 🎃🪓

I kicked mine off last weekend by dressing up as Pearl, inspired by Mia Goth, at #dragoncon. 😭

And considering Dragon Con was genuinely one of the best weekends ever, I’d say spooky season is already off to a VERY strong start.

I’M A STARRRRR! ⭐️🪓

Another year of @dragoncon in Atlanta! 🐉✨

So obviously, we have to look back at some of my favorite cosplays and looks from over the years.

If you’ve never been, Dragon Con is basically Atlanta becoming one giant celebration of every fandom: anime, gaming, comics, sci-fi, fantasy, cosplay, and everything in between.

If you wanna keep the Dragon Con party going (or you’re just curious about what actually happens there 👀), I’ve got an entire PLAYLIST on YOUTUBE! by @rylanbenet

Today is my grandma’s birthday. ❤️

We lost her this past July, and today I’ve been thinking about all the little things that made her *Grandma*.

Some of my favorite memories are watching you in your garden and all of us having to tell you, “Grandma, come inside!” because somehow you’d still be out there tending to your plants long after the sun went down..sometimes 9 or 10 at night. 😂🌱

I remember your broccoli casserole, which will forever be one of my favorite dishes. And your grits were SO good that I still try my best to make them the way you taught me to this day.

And of course, everybody always knew we were twins.❤️ I basically look like another version of you, and as I’ve gotten older, I see you in myself even more. There’s something really special about being able to look in the mirror and still see a little piece of you looking back at me.

You showed me what it looked like to be resilient, to care deeply for your family, but also to continue making time for the things that brought you joy. Gardening was one of those things for you, and somewhere along the way, it became something I love too.

I actually just finished watering my plants, and of course, I thought about you. 🌿

I hope you’re with my Mom again. I know how deeply losing her hurt you, so I hope wherever you are now, the two of you are together, happy, and at peace. I hope you got to say hello to Granddad, too.

Most of all, I hope you know how much I love you. How much **we all love you.** And how dearly you’re missed.

I hope you’re somewhere beautiful now, completely free, tending to the biggest garden imaginable. ❤️🌻

Happy birthday, Grandma. My twin forever. I love you always. ❤️ by @rylanbenet

Y’all, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how life really is what you make it.

And I don’t mean that in a “just think positive” way because… have you SEEN the economy?? 😭 Most of our generation can barely imagine buying a house, the world constantly feels like it’s on fire, and every other day there’s something new to worry about.

But at the same time, we’re living in an era where technology has given so many of us opportunities that didn’t exist before. We can create things, build communities, start businesses, learn almost anything, share our ideas, and potentially turn something we genuinely love into a life.

And lately I’ve realized…I really don’t want to look back and wonder “what if I actually tried?”

Obviously, we can’t control everything about the circumstances we’re given. But I can control whether I give the things I care about a real shot.

I just don’t want regret to be the reason I never found out what was possible.

We get one life. I’m gonna see what I can do with mine. 🫶🏽
