The Basque Country was so special and beautiful ~
the countryside, culture, cathedrals, food, people, architecture.
Traveling through Spain, I felt my Abuelita’s presence very strongly and knew she was there guiding and supporting us the whole way through.
I usually would receive a little note from her through most of the Yogi teas I drank my way through.
I loved the one in the photo that came through after I had acknowledged her presence, feeling a lot of love and gratitude 🙏🏽 by @sabri_rubin

To the woman who raised and birthed me (and all her grandchildren), as a part of us were in our mother’s womb when she was in yours, gracias POR la vida que me ha dado tanto ♥️

My Abuelita was the best and most important person I’ve ever known. The kindest, most loving, self-less, forgiving, patient woman I’ve ever known. I remember being asked when I was younger who my role model was and she would be the first person that would come to mind. I aspired to be like her growing up and have felt this way ever since. I have so many memories with her and stories of her that are forever held in my heart.
The saying, ‘home is where the heart is’ couldn’t be more true.
She was my home ~ my forever safe person to come back to, who filled my belly with the most satisfying home cooked meals every day when I was hungry coming home from school, who kept my hands and feet warm when they were cold, who would eat pan con palta with me late at night, while sipping on herba luisa, who spent most of her time in the kitchen cooking our next meal to eat altogether.
Even though I didn’t know it at the time, she would have the biggest impact on me and my love for spending most of my time in the kitchen, cooking and baking from scratch.
When I would be near the kitchen, she would always say “levántame las mangas por favor Sabrinita” (which means ‘roll up my sleeves’)
It’s really another perfect depiction of who she was, which was also the most hard working, strong and resilient woman I’ve ever known.

To my Abuelita, mi amor para siempre, te quiero mucho. Nos veremos ♥️ by @sabri_rubin

Virgo season in full swing ♍️

Feeling so grateful for this life and all of the beautiful people in it 💫 by @sabri_rubin

Rincón has been winning over my heart the past couple days.
Arriving to the sweetest beach town that is also surrounded by a variety of fruit trees with the most intricate and symmetric architecture that always makes me think of the Divine expressing itself through the trees.
We came across a majestic tree whose leaves served as our form of shade on another typical hot and sunny beach day out here where we didn’t bring a beach umbrella.
I couldn’t stop staring at the leaves while laying underneath this tree and meditating on the overwhelming abundance that nature is always providing 🏝️

~ As the trees express themselves through their leaves, children express themselves through play and as we grow let us continue to express ourselves through play, music and dance ~ by @sabri_rubin

Beautiful start to our little venture in Puerto ~

We spent our first evening in El Yunque, our place surrounded by diverse shades of green and the unique sounds of birds that live within the national forest.
El Yunque is the only tropical rainforest in the US and is truly a slice of heaven.
We were pleasantly greeted by a gato that kept us company for the 12 hours we spent exploring a bit of the property, taking naps on the hammocks, cooking and enjoying meals together.
It’s moments like these that bring me much gratitude for the people in my life, sharing the experience and goodness that nature always has to offer.

Gracias for capturing some of it on film @dharma_bumsita 🌕 by @sabri_rubin

~ Tantas cosas buenas ~

What this mini birthday retreat was filled with.
Meditation, Yoga, sunbathing, good surf, water time, yummy home cooked comida, no internet, reading, reminiscing, good company and lots of tea.
Needless to say, I’ll be back real soon.

Nos vemos pronto 🇲🇽 by @sabri_rubin

Making a meal in la cocina brings me a lot of joy.
Taking the time to make a meal from scratch is so satisfying; getting to know the ingredients I’m using ~ their flavors and textures, what their origin is and what they pair well with, then creating a beautiful meal out of it that’s bursting with color, aroma and history.
It makes me feel that I’m truly honoring each individual ingredient and giving them the much needed attention they deserve.
It’s very meditative and down regulating to my nervous system. It’s also the only form of art that one can eat, which is cool since we all gotta eat!

I’m curious to know what you like to engage in that brings you joy and is calming to your nervous system?

I had so much fun cooking a plant based dinner for @angie.sadeghi at my clients beautiful home that he hosted. It was such a lovely evening with beautiful people, filled with good conversation around the dinner table 🥂
I’m filled with gratitude for being able to cook for people that are just as into talking about food as I am ~

If you’re looking for someone to cater a yummy plant based dinner party or event at your casita, let a sister know 🌱 salud ! by @sabri_rubin
