I had this really fascinating dream a week ago where I had encountered a creature on a cliff, chained, its wings bright and blinding, thorns sticking out of its back… I got no clue what it all meant but those glimpses felt so real I have all the details that were around me imprinted in my mind. I was staring at the scenery from the ground so drew it exactly as it was in my dream. I just had to put it out there, (I was REALLY inspired) therefore I made a painting and a poem ! by @safi_artsy
Mountain Mystery It was in mountains I saw a high steep cliff Those wings were bounded The chains were so much stiff When looking up, I saw thy fairy face, Thou start the healing; I felt such a disgrace ! The voice that called me on the day of chaos, Was this the voice that caused it all ? When hearing, it was full of pathos, I guess you've already befell. When I was hanging from the tree Mine muscles were too sore from holding. There was a raven next to thee, Who had a glare of scolding. When in the middle of the night My shoulders grew in spikes, You were the one to hold me tight And helped me break those chains; Thou freed my bright wings that could fly Yet I felt pain in veins. While watching how my wings turn dark, I asked for an advice But noticed how thy fairy face was no more bright at all... Since you were just like ice ! Remember how we promised hope When it remained nowhere I guessed we really had the scope, There's only raven left right there. by @safi_artsy
🎨painting my dreams😴 This one is done with oil paints on a huge canvas, just two dinosaurs that I've seen in a dream, a fluffy cutie and a terrifying monster... What can that mean ? All the details are a bit exaggerated (since it was a dream and I didn't remember everything), however the colors/tones and combinations of those are all the same ~ Any support is appreciated, thank you <333 by @safi_artsy
My 5th and last work for the AP course portfolio is the "Deforestation Chaos" In order to convey the theme of deforestation in a more clear and original way, I included paper-making in the process of work. The paper is recycled from milk cartridge. I also incorporated techniques of sumi-e (from Japanese 墨絵) where I used nontoxic sumi ink for calligraphy replacing regular paints. I also included some dried plants that are glued on top of the work as well as some pencil shavings to imitate wood particles being scattered around. The message I tried to convey through this work is that the trees are being "buried" in shavings of other trees, while there are only a few remaining... Let me know what you think about my works in general and I thank you for all your support ! <33 by @safi_artsy
This is a promised paper making step by step post (from my previous work in AP Art Drawing course that I've taken) The process: 1) pick some milk cartridge and place in a bowl with plenty of water. Leave for 1 - 2 days. 2) first step is extremely important in order to separate the layer of plastic covering from paper. Separate plastic from paper when the cartridge is wet enough. 3) collected paper (only) is better to be cut into smaller pieces for the next step :) 4) I used a kitchen blender for cutting the paper pieces into even smaller ones, until I got a creamy substance of paper fibers. 5) then, using a sieve separate water from paper fibers. 6) on a dry towel placed on a smooth surface, carefully transfer the fibers from a sieve onto the towel; cover with a towel tissue on top so it could absorb moisture, and for better results, take a kitchen sponge and gently press on top of the towel tissue (both in order to absorb even more moisture and to shape the paper's thickness). 7) as a final step, you need to let the wet paper dry out completely. The best way is to carefully transfer it onto a smooth surface of the window. - since the paper is still wet, it'll stick firmly to the window's surface and not fall. After a day it'll be already dry (depending on the climate/weather and location of the window), the paper is easy to take off of window (but still be careful) and it'll be ready to use in any way you want ! ~ Though the surface will not be as smooth as on manufactured paper, it still is very interesting to use ! :D Thank you for reading until here, if you liked this pls let me know <3 by @safi_artsy
