Time to re-introduce myself….🤎

Hey I’m Rebekah (aka: Bekah, Becky, bexz, Shieldz) ….an Ontario based wedding, elopement and travel photographer, and the face, heart and slightly chaotic energy behind Sagebrush Photography.

I’m 29, an old soul, a farm girl and someone who is always dreaming about the next place to explore. I love back roads, weathered barns, mountain air, camping under the stars and hopping on a plane with Kevin (my boyfriend) whenever we get the chance. Iceland has a permanent piece of our heart….and probably always will.

I’m sentimental about the smallest things. The way someone looks at the person they love when nobody is watching, a handwritten note, the way the mountain peaks are never ending, muddy boots by the door, the people who feel like home…those are the moments that get me every time.

As your photographer, I’m equal parts calm, bubbly and “don’t worry, I’ve got you.” I’ll fix your hair, carry your things, make you laugh when you feel awkward and probably climb somewhere I definitely should not be, to get the shot. By the end, it usually feels less like being photographed and more like hanging out with an old friend who happens to have a camera (a @sonyalpha obviously 😉).

I love deeply, laugh loudly, talk a little too much and will always choose a meaningful adventure over something perfectly polished. I love tradition, but I also love non-traditional just a little bit more!!!

So, that’s me….a down to earth Ontario photographer with an old soul, a full camera bag and a heart that wants to see the whole world.

If you’re new here, or maybe your not, tell me something about you. I genuinely want to know! 🫶🏼

Apparently my life advice now comes from a seal in Iceland 😂🦭

But honestly… how many times have we talked ourselves out of something because of the cost?

The trip.
The adventure.
The wedding that feels like us instead of everyone else.
The life we keep saying we’ll live “one day.”

Money matters…but so does the cost of waiting until the timing is perfect. Because sometimes the moments that feel like a splurge become the stories you tell for the rest of your life.

Book the flight. Take the scenic route. Plan the wedding you actually want. And if you happen to find a seal along the way, even better. 🤍

If this feels like your kind of story, stick around & follow. I think we’re going to get along.

He thought he was dating a photographer.

Turns out, he was signing up to drive the back roads, pull over whenever the light looks good, appear in entirely too many videos and help me turn our life into one big story. 🤎

Somewhere along the way, I realized I don’t only want to photograph the beautiful parts of life. I want to film the movement, the laughter and all the tiny in-between moments that make a memory feel alive.

That’s what I want to bring into your story, too…..photos you can hold onto and films that take you right back to that moment.

You don’t have to know what to do with your hands. Just reach for theirs. 🤎

A little dancing, the last of the sunlight, and suddenly having your photos taken feels a lot like a date.

Send this to the person you’d dance in with.

Just me, the granola girl with a camera behind Sagebrush Photography. A little outdoorsy, a little old soul, and very likely to go home from your wedding talking about the advice your grandma gave me and tired feet from your family getting me on the dance floor!

Spending my life before 30 collecting memories of my own, and photographing the ones you’ll grow old with. 🌿

I was so busy thinking about everything I thought I would have by 30 that I almost forgot to look at everything I’ve already created.

I thought I would be married, living in my own home and starting a family by now.

But I also dreamed of travelling.

Of seeing places that didn’t feel real in photographs. Of standing somewhere completely unfamiliar with my camera in my hands. Of building a life where adventure wasn’t something I kept saving for “one day.”

Then there I was…on a beach in Iceland, watching two sheep walk beside a little river as their reflections moved across the water.

A tiny, ordinary moment in a place I had spent years dreaming about.

And I made it happen.

Photography has taught me to notice moments like this. It has given me a career built around documenting love, connection and the little pieces of life people never want to forget.

My life may not look exactly how I expected it to by now, but it is filled with weddings, stories, travel and moments that once felt so far away.

Turns out… I’m living the life I once dreamt of.

It just arrived in a different order. 🤍

I’ll always be the girl who looks up at the moon in the middle of a wedding. 🌕

The rings were on, the cake was cut, and there it was….a harvest moon over the night they got married.

I’m sure they’ll remember the big moments. I hope these photos bring back some of the little ones, too. The things they might have missed while they were busy living it.

Give me a wedding like this every single time.

Kids running around without a care, people catching up over dinner, happy tears, loud belly laughs and all those little moments happening when no one thinks the camera is watching.

I don’t want your wedding to feel like one long photoshoot. I want you to be present with your people, soak it all in and actually live the day you’ve spent so much time planning.

I’ll be there to catch the beautiful, messy, hilarious and emotional pieces of it…the parts that will bring you right back someday.

If you want your wedding photos and films to feel like memories instead of poses, you’re exactly my kind of people. 🤍

You spend the whole morning getting ready apart…

Surrounded by different people. Standing in different rooms. Feeling entirely different kinds of nervous.

One of you is fixing a tie while the other is trying not to cry. Your family is hovering close. The chairs are waiting. Your dog has absolutely no idea why everyone is dressed so nicely.

And then, after all that waiting, you finally see each other.

Suddenly, you’re standing in the same frame and everything that felt loud becomes quiet.

That’s why I photograph the moments before the vows too. The hands adjusting your dress. The nervous smiles. The people walking beside you. The tiny details you chose months ago and the moments you never could have planned.

Because your wedding story doesn’t begin when you say “I do.” 🤍

It begins in the quiet moments leading you there.

Consider this your reminder to invite the people who won’t leave the dance floor unattended. 🪩🤠

The jacket came off.
The party hats came out.
Someone achieved unexpected airtime.

These are the wedding photos that will make absolutely no sense to your future children and somehow become your favourites from the entire day.

Give me the belly laughs, questionable dance moves, blurry hands and friends who treat your reception like the event of the year. I want to capture your wedding exactly as it felt: loud, happy and just a little bit unhinged.

Which friend would be responsible for the most chaotic photo in your wedding gallery?

There’s a strange feeling that comes with loving the life you have while quietly wondering why it doesn’t look the way you thought it would by now.

I’m almost 30. I thought I’d already be married, settled into a home and raising a family.

Instead, I spend my weekends photographing other people stepping into those chapters…and sometimes I wonder when it will be our turn.

But… then there are nights like this. Dancing together in a field, laughing at absolutely nothing, dreaming about everything that might still be waiting for us.

And I’m reminded that this is a chapter too.

So, to every couple watching the years pass while marriage, a home or babies still feel just out of reach….you aren’t behind. Your love is still worth celebrating exactly where it is today.

Maybe someday I’ll photograph the next chapter of your story, too. 🤍

Almost 30. Growing together. Love without a timeline. Future brides. Granola girl with a camera.
