〰️ MEET RAZIA 〰️

Razia is one of the incredible women at @saheliwomen who create our beautiful Soul Pieces. I’ve worked closely with her for years, and we’ve formed a truly special connection 🩷❤️

Her story is deeply moving. She was married at just three years old and, at 15, fled Pakistan for India with her husband, leaving her parents behind. For 22 years, she had no contact with her family. Only recently was she able to speak with them again.

Before joining Saheli Women, Razia worked as a farm labourer. Today, as a mother of four, she dreams of giving her children the education and opportunities she never had herself.

“Saheli Women is like therapy to me. It keeps me distracted and happy,” she says. ❤️🩷

When Razia told me, “You are my sister,” it meant so much to me. I’m so honoured to create alongside such a talented, creative and inspiring woman. I truly believe that all of this flows into every Soul Piece we create together. 🩷❤️ by @saheliwomen

There’s something about being a woman 💞

The way we love, the way we carry so much, the way we keep going even when life asks more of us than it should.

I never imagined I’d find myself here, in Rajasthan, working alongside a group of women who have reminded me just how powerful we are when we stand together.

Being at Saheli has been about so much more than fashion. It’s about the women behind it. Their stories, their strength, their determination, and the things we can learn from one another when we make space to listen.

Because when one woman rises, she doesn’t rise alone. We rise together 🙏

And I think that’s where the real magic happens.

Grounded in nature, connected to Mother Earth, and effortlessly herself.

Geeta Ji 💛

She may not have been elected this time, but we couldn’t be prouder of her.

Despite the opposition creating havoc until the very end and even calling her Beautiful.Intelligent.Talented.Charming.Happy. She never wavered and continued to show strength and perseverance. A woman who showed up for her community and had the courage to stand for change.

Change may be slower than we’d like, but it’s coming. And we’ll continue to stand alongside the women making it happen.

Because every woman who dares to use her voice brings us one step closer 💛

Never underestimate what happens when women come together 🩷

Monday’s Democracy Walk was a celebration of women’s voices, their right to be heard, and the influence they hold in shaping the future of their communities.

From the conversations shared to the sheer enthusiasm of everyone who joined us, it was a wonderful reminder of the strength of our collective voice.

We’re still feeling the energy two days later, and immensely proud of the women who continue to lead by example!

A little more women at the forefront, please. We rather like it that way.

Mother Earth is the first to touch our clothes.

Long before a garment finds its way into our wardrobes, its story has already begun. In the soil, through the changing seasons, and in the hands of those who cultivate the land.

This belief is what led us to establish Saheli Kapas.

Today, we are working with 10 farms in rural Rajasthan, placing decision-making authority over the land in the hands of women within farming households. We are also supporting farmers in adopting organic cultivation practices and paying them 15% above the government-stipulated cotton price.

To us, true luxury lies not only in the quality of what we wear, but also in the integrity of its origins and the value it creates for the people behind it.

A historic first. A collective stand.

Today, the women of Bhikamkor took to the streets for their Democracy Walk, coming together at a significant moment in the village’s history as, for the first time, a woman stands for local election.

But today’s walk was about much more than one candidacy. The women came together to raise awareness about the issues that matter to their community: access to clean drinking water, better roads and street lighting, government support reaching families who need it, cleaner surroundings, education for their children, and greater participation in the Gram Sabha, where decisions about village life are made.

These are everyday concerns that shape the wellbeing and opportunities of an entire community, and the women of Bhikamkor are making it clear that they want to be part of the conversations and decisions surrounding them.

For generations, women have played an essential role in sustaining their villages, yet their participation in public decision-making has not always reflected the significance of their contributions. Today was an opportunity to challenge that, together.

What happened in Bhikamkor is part of a much wider conversation about democracy and women’s representation. The issues may be local, but the importance of having a voice in the decisions that affect your life is universal.

When one woman stands, we all stand together. 🩷
