I love this opening shot of the teaser trailer :) I'm so proud to have been part of this team. I was able to learn so much from so many great artists. Can't wait for part 1 to come out! #watchmen #animation #dc by @sals_animated_life
The taco cart is seen throughout the show it's a favorite of mine. It's a silly details like this that make the world feel alive. Let me know what you think! Art Director: @hoekstraart #getjiro #warnerbrosanimation #adultswim #skydance #animation by @sals_animated_life
For Ep4 I got to design these BBQ Bikes, got to look at lots of bikes, and BBQs! Lot of fun! Art Director: @hoekstraart #getjiro #warnerbrosanimation #adultswim #animation #visdev by @sals_animated_life
#getjiro behind the scenes breakdown of the conference room and Baker assassin ,Bob rooftop fight. This was an early version for pre vis, blocking. Like everything in animation, it's a group effort. Lots of reuse with buildings, rooftop assets. Sometimes you start a set, someone else finishes as you get moved on to something with more priority. It's highly collaborative! Food court 3D fly through. Had fun with building what could have been a sort of Grand Central Market, but under construction! The baker assassin makes a 1st attempt with a view from the clock overlook. Jiro sprints to her location using the stairs! Did I mention this show was so much fun! This was very early #getjiro concept work that helped get the shows style approved. Some light 3D, paint over with some watercolor, and ink brushes. Art Director: @hoekstraart #warnerbrosanimation #conceptart #adultswim #animation by @sals_animated_life
The assassins bakery was made to look sterile, very clean, and organized. Spotless glass, near perfectly aligned and sized rolls. Simple environment with lots of reuse! Art Director: @hoekstraart #getjiro #warnerbrosanimation #adultswim #skydance #animation by @sals_animated_life
The establishing shot of the Farm layout. This was a very heavy file, I placed @mick.javaid farm in @frewin_hu_design and @keynescarden city set. I had to do this in batches and hand draw alot! Behind the scenes Ep3: Prop, Bakers Sniper Rifle. What a fun design to play with, looked at some real world reference, and some toys! Jon had really specific visions for guns in this world and it was a lot of fun cooking them with him! Art Director: @hoekstraart #getjiro #skydance #warnerbrosanimation #adultswim #prop by @sals_animated_life
#getjiro episode 2: Food Lab behind the scenes. The outside very unassuming, but got to play in the lab with fun designs. Two headed cow, plant / animal hybrids growing in the tubes, dissected ape on lab table, giant vault to store "mother". think island od Dr moro lab / re4 lab combo. Everything was built for possible shots needed. 1st floor with elevator to lab, staircase leading to garage for Jiro to leave with the Doc, vault with security login. Lots of fun. Art Director: @hoekstraart Apologies if I missed anyone involved ##skydance #warnerbrosanimation #adultswim #visdev by @sals_animated_life
#getjiro warehouse scene. Like most things in animation, everything is a collaborative effort. Sorry if I missed anyone. Art Director: @hoekstraart 3D assets: @captain_mango & @w.meany #warnerbrosanimation #adultswim #animation #backgroundart by @sals_animated_life
One of the first props we took on was Jiro's trusted Tantʻō blade (sushi knife) Like everything, this was a collaborative effort! The first pass: Art Lee 3D 1st pass: @hoekstraart 3D 2nd pass:@keynescarden Color & texture pass by me! #getjiro #adultswim #warnerbrosanimation #animation #sushi by @sals_animated_life
