Wow i cant believe you are 5 already

Thank you Ocean Sol Campoverde for being such a bright light of joy in our lives. Watching you grow has been the greatest gift of my life. We love you so much.

Cheers to many more surf sessions, dive sessions, and big adventures around our little island.

the crew caught a window in between trips and decided to run out for a quick strike mission. Capt. @el_squid set them up on the drift with Gabe put the brakes on a solid 85lb wahoo to get the wahoo season kicked off. @papilonglegggs our guide in training did an amazing job backing Gabe up and off we go.

Get on the boat- its only just getting started 🦓🇵🇷

Not every trip is just blue water 🇵🇷

Wahoo might be our bread and butter, but when the blue water drifts are slow, we adapt. We move to the reefs, switch up our hunting strategies, and make the most of every day on the water.

At Life Below the Surface, we work with all experience levels, helping you learn new techniques, build confidence, and become a better hunter.

Reef or blue water, the goal stays the same: leave stoked, tag a big fish, learn something new, and come back hungry for more. 🤙🇵🇷

Not sure if im supposed to be mad they taxed half the fish or happy they left us our gear. Either way Gabe did a hell of a job of getting up what he could.

This is just the beginning of all the wahoo madness that is ahead these next couple months. come grab a spot with us and see what its all about.

Spent the summer for the first time in years back in the States — unwinding, relaxing, spending some overdue family time, and letting my boys get to know my family and the area I grew up in.

It was an amazing summer, but we’re back on the island now, and the season is here! 🇵🇷

I’m beyond excited to get back in the water with @lifebelowthesurface and return to the regular schedule of hunting and diving. But more than anything, I’m excited to get back to guiding clients and friends, capturing the raw moments that bring people so much joy, and sharing the skills and knowledge I’ve been fortunate enough to learn throughout my years with @lifebelowthesurface.

For me, guiding and capturing those moments brings more satisfaction than simply hunting and shooting fish.

Over the years, guiding has become a true passion of mine. Being able to teach someone, help them land that fish, build their confidence, and watch them grow their abilities in the water is more rewarding to me than pulling the trigger myself.

These are some of my favorite moments from last season — and I got back into the game pretty late!

It’s going to be a great season. @elsquid has already been putting some big ones on the boat, and we’re excited for a busy season ahead.

Whether you’re completely new to spearfishing or already have experience and want to take your diving and hunting to the next level, we’re getting in the water with all skill levels.

From introductory reef sessions and private shore-based training to full-on bluewater pelagic sessions offshore, there’s a place for you in the water with us.

If you’ve got that itch to get in the water, learn, dive, hunt, and experience what Puerto Rico has to offer — hit us up @lifebelowthesurface.

DM me directly if you have questions about a trip or want to start planning your next adventure.

PB Dog Snapper 16.3 lbs 🇵🇷

I saw a nice ledge with some caves on the bottom and positioned my body with the current and decided, why not.
Took the drop to about 60-65 ft and saw this big guy right in there. I was fortunate to of gotten a solid shot on him and get him out of the cave after a couple drops.

Thanks @tug_trash for the backup and captain @el_squid for always putting us on the right spots

@salty_crew I nominate @salvajedel.mar the best dad ever for RAD DAD

the kind of dad who comes home salty, sunburned, exhausted from long day on spearfishing charters but still takes the time to have energy for our boys and teach them how to harvest the catch, respect the ocean, and appreciate the food on our table.

he’s teaching them more than just how to surf or dive. he’s teaching patience, hard work, adventure, and a deep love for the sea.

our boys absolutely adore him and honestly, there’s nobody more deserving of being part of the Salty Crew RAD DAD team 🌊

@salvajedel.mar forever the raddest dad we know #saltycrewraddad by @salvajedel.mar

Shorediving for me is one of my favorite ways to hunt. To be able to grab a minimal set of gear and simply dive from the shore with one simple intention. Fill the fridge for your family.

Your target species changes from what it would be in the bluewater and so does your hunting. Every catch has a purpose. Though sometimes (most of times 😂) you get skunked, bad current, or shitty viz. But when it does come around and you get a good harvest, for me it is such a gratifying feeling.

Bluewater King Mackerel hunt 🎯

Patience pays off when hunting a big predator.

@salvajedel.mar let me know on the first drift there was a mackerel eating the chum.

I did my drop, stayed vertical, and leveled off with the fish. Used the squid fingers and kept my kicks super slow. Eventually this big king made a pass too close and got the steel! @m85mfg 8mm shaft through the spine.

Gracias @lifebelowthesurface @salvajedel.mar @el_squid 🙏 by @salvajedel.mar

No better feeling than wrestling up a big lobster with just your hands. I saw this guy from the surface and instantly dropped and pressed him into the rocks and then went for it.

Im always amazed on the strength of these bigger lobsters but i was lucky enough to get a solid grab on him and then use that 3mm @neptonics_worldwide wetsuit to my advantage
