Oldspeak truly knows how to create an experience. ⏳✨

Sometime This Century: A Time Traveller’s Ball was such a fun night, hosted by @thisroomislit at @oldspeakbar to celebrate the release of @samanthasilvawriter’s new book, Sometime This Century. Samantha shared more about the story behind the book, everyone truly showed up with the costumes, Under The Table served the most incredible food, and a dance instructor even taught us how to waltz! 💃🏻 I loved having an excuse to get dressed up and fully lean into the theme. 💫

Next up at Oldspeak is an Agatha Christie Murder Mystery Party on September 15. 🔍🕯️ Tickets launch August 5, and after last night, I already know it’s going to be such a fun one.

Storytime! 🗣️

The Lit Room’s introduction to The Cabin was as an audience member of their incredible programming. In the infancy of our indie bookstore we attended a local author reading event at @lostgrovebrewing and heard Samantha Silva read alongside several other lovely authors. @samanthasilvawriter 📖

We were excited to just be a part of the literary community even though we knew absolutely no one at the time.

The Cabin is the first—and only—center for readers and writers in the heart of Southwest Idaho. They host workshops, lectures, readings, camps, publications, and other programs and other experiences that promote the power of literature. They host and publish an annual publication Writers in the Attic (we had a writing session a few months back to help folks have dedicated writing time to prepare submissions), they feature incredible top notch authors at their Readings & Conversations series. They support and organize the Boise City Writer in Residence program …. And so much more.

We’re excited to collaborate more closely with them this year — and a portion of tonight’s proceeds at our Time Travellers Ball will be donated to their nonprofit organization. @thecabinidaho by @samanthasilvawriter

For your delight** (if you haven’t had enough today already): my new novel.

**When I thank men for reading it (I thank everyone) they say « Thank YOU for writing it. It’s delightful! »
