I am proud to been a part of this beautiful documentary as trailer editor through @new_west_agency ‘IK BEN BIJ JE’ directed by @evyhhachmang, tells the story of Maaike and Thijs, who lose their stillborn son Raf. While they try to give their grief a place, life goes on: caring for their daughter Bobbie, the arrival of a third child and a move. How do they keep Raf alive within their family? An intimate portrait about the complexity of grief, and the process experienced both individually and collectively. by @sambogstedt
“BEAUTY IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER” Conceptual Essay Film by - Sam Bogstedt Special Thanks to @museumvoorlinden Short Synopsis Art today has more meaning and thought behind it than most other things. Interpretation of art is so stretched and divided that you can almost attach any adjective or noun to a piece and make it make sense. Why Modern art interested me was because I am conflicted in my own opinion about the vivid form of self expression. Modern art has an incredible impact on our social climate. For me Modern art explores interesting ideas, that "Quality" can be subjective. Beauty is truth, which means that ugliness can in fact also be beautiful. Change and progress are more important than continuity. Meaning is fluid and hugely affected by context, because meaning is an interaction between the viewer and the work. One thing that is difficult to look away from are the opposing views when it comes to modern art. There are people that make it their life to enjoy and appreciate modern art. Then on the flip side there are people who can't fathom the stupidness that is displayed. What could be the reason for someone to dislike the modern art that gets appreciated? And who has the right to say what is good and what is bad art?  This film takes a look at the different opinions on modern art by playing them at the same time. The voice over is a person who doesn’t appreciate the new innovations of modern art, while the subtitles is someone who embraces the modern art of today. by @sambogstedt
“Resident” - Film by Sam Bogstedt This idea originated from watching “La Jetée, 1962” by Chris Marker. A short film that uses still imagery and narration to tell its story. Resident is about a man living in ignorance. He lives in a nice suburban house not knowing the history of his location. The house is built on top of a German bunker that carries horror and misery within its thick cement walls. Does this bother him? Does he want to find out? No one knows what really happened within these walls. What lives were here before him, and what happened to them? by @sambogstedt
