An era of life that has changed me for good. I say goodbye to my time as a Miss Indiana local titleholder with the absolute most gratitude in my heart possible. Leaving carrying a bouquet where each of the flowers have names: Meadow, Cydney, Lauren, Haley, Megan, Darby, Shaylee, Cadence, Elly, Isabella, Ella, Maya, Ginger, Kelsey, Ellise, Lily, Elyssa, Hannah, Chloee, Abby, Maci, Kirsten, A’Niyah, Lela, Jenna, Bethany, Olivia, Harper, Amarra, Madeline, Kylie, Saylor, Jasmine, Bailey, Grace, Lyla, Sophia, Jasmin, Bella, Amanda, Phoebe, Addison, Tyla, Jillian, Abbi, Julianna, Emma, Alias, Audrey, Samantha, Jessica, Emily, Jordan, Madi, Kaitlyn, Marissa, Anastasia, and more. These women represent a fraction of those I’ve been blessed to call friend because of this program. As the line of flower gifters approached me, friends of 5, 10, 15 years, were followed by people I met that day. It felt just like time passing. Blink and suddenly the stranger is your roommate, business partner, bridesmaid, or best friend. The kindness and reverence that people have shown me over the last couple days has been unfathomable. In my mind, I just brought some intentional joy and silliness to the pageant space, and made a genuine effort to show up for myself and others. But you’ve shown me how important that really is. The world needs it, from each of us. Community is my reason for everything. And what I’ve found is to build it in a meaningful way, it requires us to deal with our own discomfort. Showing up to events even when you’re not feeling 100%, putting away tables when you want to go home, starting a conversation even when it’s scary, doing the behind the scenes work, and celebrating others in the face of your own disappointments. And when we do, the most magical thing happens. There are people who are ready to do the same things for you, when you need them to most. I’m so excited for this new phase of my life because I get to help more people experience what I did. The unmatched feeling of being seen and celebrated by your community, for who you are. Thank you all for everything. Because I knew you, I have been changed for good. by @samimiami23
When I saw this pageant trend ➡️ I knew I had to join in (but also that it’d take a while to find all the photos) 🔍✨ What I hope you take away from my journey: 1. If you find the thing that pushes you to be better, stick with it. 2. Progress is not linear. 3. No dream is guaranteed or owed, no matter how hard you work. 4. Show up consistently. For yourself and others. It makes a difference. 5. Your journey is nobody else’s! 6. Never lose your zest ✨ 7. Use what you’ve learned to make the path clearer for those who come after you. 8. It ain’t over til it’s over, baby! #MissAmerica by @samimiami23

Celebrating an incredible weekend in Hoopeston, IL and our new Miss National Sweetheart 2026 from Indiana KAYLA MYERS!!! I’m so incredibly proud of Kayla for her commitment to growth, community support, excellence, and kindness. She represented us powerfully, showing that mental and physical STRENGTH are beautiful. “Go Up to Get Down!” pt 1 of travel adventures with Moe & Meadow by @samimiami23
changed for the better & for good 🤍 It’s hard to put into words all this meant to me… Singing “For Good” with my best friend as we celebrated her 15 years of service and commitment to the Miss America Organization, the very thing that brought us together in the first place, over a decade ago. This wasn’t a performance, it was a raw showcase of the love we’ve cultivated through the gift of friendship and sisterhood, accompanied by hundreds of photos commemorating moments and people that have shaped us throughout our time in the organization and beyond. Thank you, Haley and Lauren, for allowing and trusting Sam and me with this special performance. Sam and I have shared many stages before, but never quite like this, and it was so joyous to be able to surprise our friends and family in the audience. Thank you for allowing us to celebrate and reflect on the most important thing this organization has gifted us; friendship 🤍 #Wicked #ForGood by @samimiami23
My Farewell. 15 years condensed into 4.5 minutes. Quite literally thousands of moments and pictures didn’t make it in, but I hope you can get a glimpse into the experience of growing beyond your wildest dreams. I’m so lucky that I got to spend over half my life so far being a titleholder and doing what I love. Performing, building community, serving, and spreading joy. I want to give my thanks to each of YOU! Directors, volunteers, my fellow titleholders, family, friends. I could not have grown in this journey like I did without your overwhelming, endless support. You’ve given me encouragement to last a lifetime and it will fuel my ability to pour into as many people as possible. Thank you. by @samimiami23
Sharing: My 2026 Miss Indiana Talent! A self-choreographed tap dance to Boogie Wonderland 🪩❤️ This moment on stage is one I’ll never forget. When I looked out, I could only see the blinding glow of a spotlight, but I felt the presence of each member of the audience. The roar of cheers communicated something deeply to my soul: I was seen. My artistry, my growth, my love for performing and creating, it was shared in a special, fleeting moment with an incredible group of people. Tomorrow, I get to perform it for our Miss Indiana family one last time, as I crown the new Miss Metropolitan. Saturday Aug 1 @ 3:30pm, Mount Vernon High School in Fortville, IN. Come early to explore the “SaMuseum” (15 years of pageant memorabilia) in the lobby! by @samimiami23
A Recap ❤️ I’ve long been on a journey of embracing imperfection. Not just allowing it to exist, but recognizing the vibrancy it adds to life. This year was the culmination of that journey, and it played out in the most imperfectly perfect way possible! Spilt coffees, a performing arts center under construction, fire alarms, a fire drill (in jammies and curlers), a tornado watch, a wrong name announced in gown, a finger shake, last year’s opening number song playing instead. More than anything, these incidents made me LAUGH and feel so present in each moment. Instead of feeling shaken as I may have once, each “mistake” made me more at ease, reminding me of how unserious life is. And then the most perfectly imperfect ending to my Miss Indiana story was written. I performed the best I ever have on stage, I felt my 15 years of growth and heart displayed for all to see, and I stood in the final two, getting to be the first person to welcome our new Miss Indiana to the sisterhood. A “perfect” ending to my story of persistence may have been the dream I felt called to all these years coming true. But I think an even more powerful result is the one that happened. Here’s the truth: you can work your whole life for a goal, become the version of yourself that is most prepared and worthy of achieving it, and it still may not happen. In pageantry that’s not just a reality for some of us, but MOST of us. But hear me when I say THE GOAL WAS WORTH PURSUING ANYWAY! The calling and passion and effort were never misplaced. Look closer at what the goal represents. For me, it meant achieving excellence in communication and performance, building unshakable confidence, honoring the efforts of all my mentors, becoming a recognized community leader and resource for others’ growth, and knowing myself fully. When I sit back and look at what I’ve done, I feel I’ve achieved ALL OF THAT! I’ve become what the titles of Miss Indiana and Miss America meant to 13-year-old Sam. One month from now on August 1, my time as a Miss America local titleholder, a role I’ve held for over half my life, will come to a close. I can’t wait to see who the final woman I will pass the crown to will be ❤️ by @samimiami23
