You’re sitting down at the piano one day, playing and singing a variety of songs you know, like you normally do. After you finish one, you find a key that sounds pleasant to you, so you play freely without words just to listen to it. You mess around for a while, unsure of what to do next, so you spontaneously make up a melody long enough for a stanza in the right hand, keeping the chords in the left. You chuckle to yourself.𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘭. Feeling that the notes should not remain alone, you ask yourself: what words could you add? You spend a fair amount of time attempting to answer this question, trying out different phrases like fitting pieces of a puzzle together. Finally, you come to a satisfying answer, so you test out your creation to see if it works. Congrats, you found the right one. You choose to go through it all again, taking it one stanza at a time, until eventually, a full-fledged idea presents itself to you. After you finish, you perform it all the way through. You take pride in what you have just completed: your first song. You realize how much you enjoyed creating it and want to do it again. And again. One week remains until my birthday, so I want the world to know this while I’m still 19: 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭. I have written, recorded, and produced songs all on my own. I have been doing so since the start of my senior year of high school. My first single will be on the way soon :) by @samuel.antipov
