Sam Young was a PROBLEM!

Watch the Pitt legend take over against UConn during this classic Big East battle. The athleticism, physicality and scoring ability were on another level.

Is Sam Young the greatest player in Pitt basketball history? If not, who gets your vote?

Times are changing. And I like it..🏀😎😤 by @samyoung3g

Before the drills, there was already tension in the gym! 😳

Sam Young was known for trying to bully teammates during practice to prove he was the toughest player on the team. That mindset eventually led to a heated fight with Gary McGhee when Sam tried to push him around one too many times. 💥

But that toughness was exactly what Coach Jamie Dixon wanted from his teams. One of the most intense drills we did was the legendary box-out drill, designed to make Pitt the most physical team on the court. Every rebound was a battle, every possession was earned, and nobody got a free pass.

In this episode, Sam shares stories from those competitive Pitt practices, the fight with Gary, and how Coach Dixon built a culture that helped turn the Panthers into one of the toughest programs in college basketball.
