A screen captures a soul A choir The ceiling opens up And for a second, something pours in #35mm #filmphotography #florenceandthemachine #lightleak #concert by @samzphtos
A witch Everybody scream She raises a claw to the sky Our throats open as one #35mm #filmphotography #lightleak #florenceandthemachine #concert by @samzphtos
A roll of film haunted by a ghost A light leak and a ufo Light wrapped around a figure To pull her up to heaven #35mm #florenceandthemachine #filmphotography #fml #chicago by @samzphtos
The ‘Real’ America - III Weston, WV. As real as it gets. A Walmart in the next town over. A cinema even farther. Everyone knows each other. Houses slide off of hills, gas stations held up at stick-point. A lunatic asylum that’s certified haunted. (It really fucking is btw) #westvirginia #photographer #streetphotography #americana #35mm by @samzphtos
The ‘Real’ America - II This here is the dominant landmark of rural America. Manifest Destiny wrought into being. A torchless Lady Liberty, put to work. THAT’s real America. #35mm #filmphotography #illinois #photography #stlouis by @samzphtos
The ‘Real’ America - I They never show you the construction sites, the sides of the houses with the famous facades, or how horrible it will be to park there. #35mm #filmstreetphotography #sanfrancisco #paintedladies #photographer by @samzphtos
The stuff that stitches us together - III It’s ugly. But I’m transfixed. How many meetings about where and why this particular light. This intersection carved from Osage and Illini land. If we can run wires and plumbing and electricity and asphalt to make this intersection work, are there not bigger things we could conquer? #35mm #filmstreetphotography #stlouisgram #photography by @samzphtos
The stuff that stitches us together - II How many beautiful images do we ignore because we see them everyday? There’s something so visual about the lines and poles that surround us. Every building, road, house, framed by our desperate need to communicate with everything and anything. #35mm #filmstreetphotography #photography #stlouis by @samzphtos
The stuff that stitches us together - I Did you know Freud hated the telephone? It’s always the ‘wrong voice’ coming out the other side. The receiver is not a point of contact, but a point of distance. How far are you? #35mm #filmstreetphotography #stlphotographer #photography #stlouisgram by @samzphtos
Lollapalooza. Fountain break. I don’t even remember which camera I brought to this festival. #lollapalooza #chicago #2019 #35mm #filmphotography #photography by @samzphtos
Lots of tourists here obviously. Everyone waiting their turn to get The Shot of The Bridge. Police drive by and yell at you to lock your cars. #goldengatebridge #sanfrancisco #35mm #filmphotography #photography by @samzphtos
School carnival. I get motion sick. I threw up. #35mm #filmphotographer #stlouis #carnival #photography #stlphotographer by @samzphtos
