A moment I’ll remember forever 🐋✨

It was magical. We played with this female whale for what felt like hours. She was so gentle, curious and playful! She would reach out her fin as if to touch us, she mimicked our movements - lots of spins and belly rolls - and just seemed to be happy surrounded by us. And the way she looked at us!!! Wow. Making deep eye contact with her and feeling such a strong connection… so much respect and awe for these gentle giants.

Māuruuru Mo’orea for letting us experience your magic 🌊🤍

Thank you @kelseywilliamson for the incredible pictures and the adventure of a lifetime 💫 by @sandi.oluoch

Dreams really do come true: ya girl is published!! 💫✨

“Adventuress: Women Exploring the Wild” is a collection of stories from women all over the world who have dared to pursue their dreams of solo travel and adventure. I feel honored to be a part of this incredible project :)

I share my story of how I took the leap into the unknown five years ago. Still so unsure of myself but desperately wanting to step out of my comfort zone. Since then I’ve gone freediving with sharks, climbed up active volcanoes, surfed under rainbows, danced in the desert, danced in the desert, explored shipwrecks 100ft below the surface, seen several world wonders, gotten into photography, made new friends and immersed myself in different cultures.

As a black woman, this opportunity means the world to me. I represent a demographic that is so often the minority in the world of adventure travel. I remember feeling so out of place and insecure because I never saw people who looked like me in these kind of spaces. Little me would be so proud to see how far we’ve come. Representation truly matters!! Over the past few years, it’s been amazing seeing so many badass women of color trailblazing the path forward. It inspires me to no end.

Thank you so much to @bookpackager and @prestel_publishing for this incredible opportunity. Thank you for letting me tell my story. “Adventuress” is available for order on Amazon starting today 🫶🏾💛✨ by @sandi.oluoch

Seattle! I’m not done with you quite just yet 😉

In true Sandi fashion, within a few days of coming back, I immediately headed to the mountains to catch the last of the larches. Jet lag and all. Impending snowstorm and all. Just fully sent it 🤘🏾

This overnighter in the north cascades gave us a winter wonderland, FREEZING night temps, sketchy boulder fields, fall colors, blue skies and warm sunshine finally 🧡❄️✨

It’s good to be back.

Most people go to the Louvre for the Mona Lisa, meanwhile I was absolutely spellbound by the art on the ceilings! Had a blast wandering around soaking it all in… the Louvre itself is art ✨ by @sandi.oluoch

Diani forever ❤️‍🔥🌊 I love my little ocean home!! After five years away, I got to spend January, July and August in Diani. Warm blue ocean, white sandy beaches, freediving, dolphins, tide pooling, collecting shells, sunsets, sunrises, wooden dhows, and an endless supply of madafu and plumeria flowers… thankful for it all.

Here are some of my favorite shots - and people. Till next time 🫶🏾 #magicalkenya #diani #dianibeach by @sandi.oluoch

it truly never gets old :,) and extra special to document it on camera 📸🦁🦓🦒🦏🐗

It’s me I’m the friend 🤭 if we’re friends irl I’ve probably subjected you to an adventure or two :) by @sandi.oluoch

2026 has been a fun year for wildlife photography!!! 📸🦓🦒🐘🦁🇰🇪

My favorite shots from our time in the Mara :) I love the feeling of being out in the savannah, searching for animals and learning so much about conservation and Masai culture. We were even lucky enough to see the rare and elusive black rhino 🦏

The animal shots were taken with my new 55-250 lens on a crop sensor camera! This teeny but powerful lens packs a punch 💥 by @sandi.oluoch

Photos I took on the way to summit Africa’s second tallest mountain: Mount Kenya 📸⛰️🇰🇪

I still can’t believe it! I went with Debbi and her family, with the goal of getting her 75-year-old dad to the summit!!! 🥹

Wowow what an incredible experience we had making our way through some stunning landscapes, surviving freezing temps, eating lots, sleeping little, and admiring our beautiful country from its highest point.

Feeling so grateful and on top of the world - literally :)🤍 by @sandi.oluoch

Tiwi magic 🪄✨ exploring the stunning tide pools, beaches, and caves of Tiwi!! Forever a fan of beach hikes because of all the sunshine, salty air, and the fact I get to jump in the ocean!! 🌊🌞🌴

Fun fact: the biggest tide pool is kinda shaped like the African continent - I wish I had brought my wide angle lens to capture it. Aaand you can cliff jump into the pool from above!! Guess this means a return trip is in order 🫡 by @sandi.oluoch

Diani days are here again 🌞🌊🇰🇪 by @sandi.oluoch
