Kalimera Kalimera Kalimera! I’m Eugenia and I am a licensed tourist guide expert in Santorini 💙

Feel like a local with Eugenia.

Santorini is my home — and I believe you deserve to experience it at its best.

When you explore the island with me, it’s not about rushing or following the crowds. It’s about moving thoughtfully, choosing the right timing, and understanding what makes this place truly extraordinary. The iconic caldera views, of course — but also the quiet elegance of hidden paths, authentic villages, and moments most visitors miss.

You won’t just take photos.
You’ll understand the history.
You’ll feel the rhythm of the island.

As we walk, locals greet us with a warm “Kalimera.” Conversations happen naturally. Doors open. You’re not just seeing Santorini — you’re experiencing it from the inside.

There’s a difference between visiting a destination and discovering it properly.

Trust the expert.
You deserve the best version of Santorini — curated, authentic, and unforgettable.

I would be honored to welcome you.

Eugenia 🤍✨

Don’t Make This Santorini Travel Mistake ⚠️

A visit to the Akrotiri Archaeological Site 🏺is DEFINITELY a MUST

Yes, we all love photos, views, and sunsets…
but how often in your lifetime do you get the chance to step into history like it’s virtual reality?

Few people know that Santorini is home to one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in the world:
Akrotiri, also known as the “Greek Pompeii”.

Same story — three big differences:

1️⃣ When we say ancient, we mean a cataclysmic volcanic eruption 4,000 years ago.
2️⃣ The big mystery… what did the people of Santorini do when the eruption began?
3️⃣ Unlike Pompeii, no human remains have ever been found.

All this — and many untold stories — unfold in a truly unique way during a guided tour of Akrotiri.

💡 FYI
No worries about heat, sun, or rain (well… rain is rare anyway 😉).
The entire site is covered by a modern rooftop, designed to enhance both comfort and the experience.

📍 History. Mystery. Santorini — beyond the postcard.

🍇 ✂️Pástrema time in Santorini!

While the island is slowly winding down after the busy summer season, another beautiful tradition comes to life in the vineyards.

Pástrema (πάστρεμα) is the traditional autumn pruning and tidying of Santorini’s vines, preparing them for the next growing season. It’s a reminder that Santorini’s wine story doesn’t end with the harvest — it continues all year round, through the hands and knowledge of the people who care for these extraordinary vineyards.

Here, every vine has a story, every season has its work, and every glass of wine carries a little piece of the island’s soul. And watching this work always brings to mind a beautiful thought from The Little Prince:

“It is the time you have devoted to your rose that makes your rose so important.” 🌹

Perhaps the same is true of these ancient vines. Their value lies not only in the grapes they produce, but also in the time, patience and care that generations of islanders have devoted to them.

Because Santorini’s wine is more than a product of the land. It is a story of adaptation, tradition and human connection — one carefully tended vine at a time. 🍷🤍

Santorini beyond the blue domes. A place best understood through the people, traditions and stories that make it unique.

Did you know that Santorini has an ancient theatre? 🎭

High above the Aegean, at Ancient Thera, you’ll find the remains of a theatre that was once at the heart of the city’s public and cultural life.

Imagine sitting here more than 2,000 years ago, watching performances with the endless blue of the Aegean stretching out before you.

Standing here today, it’s fascinating to imagine the voices, music and gatherings that once filled this very space.

And this is where I love to step in as a guide — to connect the landscape you see with the stories of the people who lived here thousands of years ago.

Because sometimes, knowing the story behind a place makes the view even more breathtaking. 💙#santorini #greece #feellikealocalwitheugenia #visitgreece #history by @santoriniguide.gr

“I don’t drink sweet wines.”

It’s something I hear quite often before a wine tour in Santorini.

And then comes Vinsanto.

Not simply a sweet wine, but one of Santorini’s most distinctive expressions — born from sun, volcanic soil, ancient vines and time.

After the harvest, the island’s white grapes are laid out beneath the intense August sun for around 10 days, slowly drying under the Cycladic light. As the grapes lose water, their flavours become richer, deeper and more concentrated — as if the summer itself were being distilled into every grape.

And eventually, they become Vinsanto.

An extraordinary amber-gold wine, made from white grapes, with layers of dried fruit, caramel and spice — and a sweetness beautifully balanced by Santorini’s natural acidity.

White grapes.
Ten days of August sun.
A volcanic island.
And a sunset… in a glass.

This one is still in the making. 🍇☀️

And perhaps, by the time you taste it, you’ll understand why so many people change their mind about sweet wines in Santorini. #santorini #santoriniguideontour #greece #experience #winetour by @santoriniguide.gr

The Feast of Virgin Mary

Today, August 15th, Greece celebrates one of the most important and beloved days of the Orthodox Christian calendar — the Dormition of the Virgin Mary, the Mother of God.

Across Greece, churches dedicated to the Virgin Mary fill with candles, flowers, music and people coming together in faith and celebration.

In Santorini, this day feels especially beautiful — in the little whitewashed churches, beneath the bells, surrounded by the Aegean blue.

A day of faith, tradition, family and celebration.
A day when the heart of Greece comes alive. 🇬🇷💙

And if you have a friend named Maria, or Panagiotis, don’t forget to wish them “Chronia Polla!” today! 😉
It’s their name day — and in Greece, that usually means they’re the ones who are supposed to treat you! 🥂🇬🇷

Happy Feast of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary.
Χρόνια πολλά!
