POSTS STORIES REELS

Karen in her MTL studio some warm day last summer. Hilarious banter and big shares fueled by espresso and italian sweets, but the real treat was connecting to someone who simply and truly *gets it*. What a thing, to meet someone for the first time and feel a profound sense of ease! by @sarahbodri

I have TWO special announcements today, but only one is terrifyingly vulnerable bc it's something I'm quite proud of: 🎈my newly updated website🎈 is ready for your viewing pleasure! Consultant @pedroandjackie curated a beautiful selection of my images while I overhauled the design (no templates, all manual baby) using trusty and flexible @useformat (not an ad, I just love Format lol). The link is you-know-where.

🧃 ANNOUNCEMENT TWO is actually a contest, my first ever ✨️ ℙ𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕥 𝕘𝕚𝕧𝕖𝕒𝕨𝕒𝕪 ✨️ To enter u must visit www.sarahbodri.com on a desktop/non-phone device, and DM me pictures of your screen of two portraits I have NEVER shared on IG before. The catch is that they can't be on the overview page 🧐 Its actually so easy because YES there's a bunch of older archive work, but SO many new images for your peepers 👀. I'll do an online draw 📅 Friday January 30th. More important details in my stories!

Thanks for looking xoxoxo by @sarahbodri

A couple weeks ago in Toronto I met up with the lovely and intuitive @sarahbodri to have new author photos taken. It’s really rare to find a photographer who gets you and your project and just knows how to make you feel comfortable. The first time we talked she told me her favorite author photo was Renata Adler’s; I knew I was in good hands. We shot in front of the secret tunnel entrance behind the stables at Casa Loma, where my book is set, and in a beautiful studio that just happened to also be home to a classic Crosley Fiver radio from the 1940s, so a nod to Cincinnati there too. I resisted the urge to take the radio home with me. by @sarahbodri

If you're still finishing an entire roll of film on the job you were hired for, you're doing it wrong. Entanglements and encounters between plants are just as intimate as wedding photos RIGHT? RIGHT. I'm mostly kidding, and its unlikely that anyone will even see these sultry plant portraits. Also I got my first order back from graination and the scans are VERY clean and easy to edit! Thanks guys. by @sarahbodri

I'm inspired by the person, the space, the light and the idea that we can BE and FEEL seen in so many different ways ✨️ I fell asleep wondering What happens when we only see ourselves through the eyes of others (as in, photographers) ? How do we cultivate a True but dynamic sense of self in both physical and metaphysical senses? I came up with answers but then fell into my dreams.

@angel_calendrier thank u for the opportunity 💘

Intimate details = fulsome portrait. Thanks for trusting me to be in your space, Angel

When your handsome & talented bestie needs a fresh portrait for some secret thing even u can't know about just yet you just say LFGGGG 😎 Congrats @deereeyay on your residency with @thecdnacademy 💫💫💫 by @sarahbodri

Thank u Angel!! by @sarahbodri

One thing I highly reccomend that most people overlook when choosing their outfits for author photos (or any portrait) is to always! include shoes. Ironically you can't see hers in these photos but if Nicole wasn't wearing them I guarantee the vibes would be radically different 🥿🥿🥿 Author photos at home with the hilarious and wonderful @nicoleelsasser by @sarahbodri

You contain multitudes and your home doesn't need to be a viral aesthetic pinterest sensation to be the perfect portrait location, ok???? Before this shoot Nicole and I spent some time mood-boarding and outfit pondering since prep and planning is really key for me. It's not just about maximizing camera time, it's about inviting people to start sharing and opening up before the camera comes out. Then, instead of fussing around with external lighting we really made this shoot the most yappy lovely hilarious time and everything just kind of worked out the way it needed to ❤️♎️📚🦄🚬 thank you @nicoleelsasser by @sarahbodri
