PRO DUBS WIN DALLAS BABYYY🥇🥇

The very first words ever exchanged between Sally and I were during a solo sled pull. She politely got onto me and yelled, "HEY you're throwing your rope in my lane!!" She said this a couple of times before I realized she was talking to me. I said, "Oh! Sorry!!" And we went about the race passing each other back and forth until she ultimately destroyed me towards the end! I thought to myself, "Dang, this is a girl I'd love to team up with sometime!" Time passed, and I saw her in Atlanta last year. I just walked up to her, mentioned my dubs idea, and she's like, "Yeah, maybe we can plan one!" Time passed again, and she reached out this season to take me up on the idea! So Boom 💥 We did it!! Kentucky girl meets up with Florida girl in Dallas to collect the cake with a 1:02:15 🥇We left immediately after for the airport, having to miss the podium. Fastest wham bam' turn around 23 hour race trip I've ever taken! I'm thankful for our friendship and I'm thankful for our first team up! She was the MVP of our race duo high fiving people along the way and making it seem easy! 🥂 🥂🥂🥂🥂

🥇Sooo great to run Hyrox Atlanta with Joe on Saturday and to bring home another banner in our first Mixed Doubles match up of the season!!! 💪🏽💪🏽
We're a great team. I push him on the running and he pushes me in the stations. 1:03:01 was our time. Sure, we're happy with the win, but immediately talked about where time was wasted! We may actually have to plan practice now instead of winging it! Our combined age places us into the 50-54 division, making us very competitive. I'm the youngest of the women at 44, while he's usually older than most of the men in that group at 59. But don't let your 'age 'affect anything, we both jumped up the next morning and ran full solo pros against fresh new competitors! Joe earned another second place podium, going home 2 for 2 for the weekend, while I remained a 4th place bridesmaid in my second race!! 🤗😄
Stoked for what's still to come this season!! I'm feeling good, I'm feeling motivated! This weekend reminded me of the areas where I need to improve. I simply have to stop talking about it and actually EMBRACE the work needed if I want to continue to improve. There's always MORE that can be done! 💪🏽💪🏽
Loved seeing our friends and up next is Anaheim PRO DOUBLES WOMEN babbyyyyy!! 🔥🔥🔥

I KNEW we'd be faster this second time around! 🥇 61 minutes was good enough for the win in our division and 4th overall🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️

So here's the deal. I DABBLE a little bit in many things all year, never focusing on one specific goal. I'm carefree and I have fun. I do what I want and I don't obsess over anything, but I'm thinking I wanna train for this 💪🏽

Bruce can/has ran a 57 minute Doubles race with his friend Chad, so he's just waiting on me to move faster when it's my turn in each station. Yes, Bruce could do all of the work alone and get our same time, but he makes me do half the work even though it costs us time. That's the only way I will improve. I don't want to be carried the whole way. I wanna keep up and I want to get stronger 💪 I'm thankful for @brucejackson.mba guidance and belief in me ♥️

So, I think the 3rd time will be the charm. We will be sub 60. I can feel it and I have sooo much more to give/gain. I'll give HYROX the dedication it takes, and will be back again for more podium ceremonies with improved times.

So that was Round 1 for me in Dallas. I came BACK that evening for MORE competing in a relay! 😈 How did we do? Well, I'll post about that 2nd race of the day tomorrow!

It was Great seeing everyone and Congrats on all of the podiums, and to the new records set all weekend! @hyroxamerica @hyroxworld #hyrox #hyroxtraining #racing #hybrid #station #running #podium #1st #fitover40 by @sarahjr7

Tampa was Fun! 🥉🥈Per usual, loved seeing so many of you there!! #goodenergy
The highlight of the weekend for me was getting to watch @brucejackson.mba make a return to the Hyrox floor on Friday after double knee replacement to run with @dnicjack1 for their first father/son doubles!! Our friend @birchlikethetree ran her first race, and @kaylashort0326 ran her first pro solo!

As far as my Friday Pro solo went, I frolicked along and had a blast hitting friends ass' out there and cheering them on! I ended up with a third place podium. It's funny how the less you care about how you will do, how effortless and fun it becomes!
I left the venue feeling warmed up and ready to run the next one!
So I stayed for more action the next evening with my friend @jaci_caceres Pro Doubles. Jaci and I both have primary #1 partners (@sallystaatthompson and @marissa_palmer ) that were unable to run this event, so we decided to team up, have fun, and collect a podium together!! What's great about Hyrox is truly becoming friends with great women who are fellow competitors, but the next day could be cutting up' with you and running as a team! The 40s has a huge handful of incredible women I would mix n match/ team up and throw down with anywhere!! Jaci is one of them! ❤️

Had a couple of snafu's that cost us time like our sled was touching the front line by not even a quarter inch (I guess not 100% clearing it) so it took a minute to have that relayed to us by a judge, we run back, give it a tiny pull and go. This one hiccup alone cost us the first place win by mere seconds. Anyway, we were out there smiling and running care free! The course at that point was pretty crowded with all of the mixed doubles still on course as well so I apologize if I got shoulders with any of you on the turns! All and all, the venue was great, zero complaints! Wished I had taken my phone out more to capture photos with so many of you, and congrats to all!!! Looking forward to Denver up Next! 😈Who will be there?

@focusfitnessmerrill is the place to be. 🥰
This is where we will train. If you live in Jacksonville, I challenge you. Show up. Come see us!!

If you're a beginner, we'll make you confident. If you're advanced, show up so I can chase you.

We've always been like a small family, challenging and pushing each other to be better. Once the habit of showing up is formed, there's no looking back. The camaraderie is life-changing. Don't ever say you can't, we know you can. #lfg

Phew 😮‍💨 🥇 🥇 Sally and I knocked another "Professional Sim" race out of the way in SLC!
We all have to sign up for these races so far in advance, it's hard to predict what the months leading up to a race can look like. For me it was a lot of complete, absolute downtime. Now that these venues are wrapped up, everything can be reassessed, and let the training for this new season begin!

Saturday's Pro Dubs race was so fun, as they always are! My heart is in team events. I come alive more when I race with friends and family. We saw so many friends, high fived' all the little kids on the run laps, and had a blast!! We ran care free and relaxed, no pressure.

My Friday pro solo on the other hand, ended up being the "acclamation" race. Well, I wouldn't really call it much of a race at all. I'm not even sure if it was really due to the change of climate either . I believe the queasiness I couldn't shake was completely due to the fried food stands they placed in the center of the venue near the running loop. It was so overpowering. I went into sled push on day one and got so queasy, I had to walk out of rox zone every single lap, and the queasy feeling was so unbearable as I entered into wall balls. I had to completely kneel and lay hunched over on the ground for a while. (Hence the almost 12 minutes there) All I kept thinking about was last week's viral topic.... and I was so afraid to actually puke on myself and envisioned a ton of pictures and videos with puke on myself! 🤣 I kept worrying I'd be the next viral story!!! So, I successfully did not vomit (thank goodness) and I'm really proud of that! After 12 minutes in that block, I walked into the finish. I promised Sally and joked afterwards that race was my shake out performance, and I'd pull it together for our second race the next day!! She had just crushed her race and had been patiently waiting for me to cross the finish!

The weekend went by way too fast, per usual! Arrive. Race. Race again. Plane back home!
See everyone in Tampa!! #hyrox #running #utah #freinds by @sarahjr7

PROUD of what my body was able to do on fumes this weekend in DC at the Season Opener! 🥈
Two PRO division Races. The first one, well, was a shit show after the airport torture and being trapped in the plane for hours. I ran it anyway off of 3 hours of sleep because well, Im not a quitter. So Fridays race was a Bust.

Was able to get some rest Friday night finally after being awake for 21 hours! Woke up on Saturday and it was basically just a waiting game until Sally and I's 640 start time. We knew we would be racing our friends who had fresh legs and would be hyper dialed in and focused. I looked at Sally, who also ran a full pro the day before and I said, "There's a shit ton of ladies who would love to run what we can on a bad day. So let's go have fun and think of this as our Welcome back to Hyrox sim."
64 minutes later, we were foam rolling at the finish! Excited to be done and proud of the effort!!
This weekend was much needed. It's fired me back up for the upcoming venues! I'm excited to run, train, and always learn more when it comes to this sport!
I looked at my Garmin. I took approximately 40 DAYS OFF collectively, No lifting or running this summer. 40 total! So to pop off the bench and have two races in one weekend, and go home with a podium with my amazing friend, is truly a WIN for me! My heart is smiling and I'm excited for more to come! It was great seeing everyone and jumping back on the saddle! Let's Goo!! 🐎
Congrats to our friends and their podiums as well, so many bad ass ladies I'm proud to race with!
Now that my beloved Gett Itt gym has closed permanently, I wanted to thank my new Hyrox affiliated amazing gyms for embracing me and for the new membership, fellowship, and friendships. Cheers to the wonderful classes and programming you both have! @sofitsportsfestival and @focusfitnessmerrill
Up next: Utah. Denver. Tampa. Nashville.
