Think of the woman who helped you become who you are.

Sari Marsden carries hers every day, in a coat covered in stars.

Each star was drawn by hand in hot wax, by an Ibu who has given more than 10,000 hours to her craft.

When Sari learned that, the coat became a promise:

"To be someone, in my own way, like my Ibu."

In Indonesian, Ibu means mother. It's also what we call any woman who helps us grow.

A teacher. A friend. The one who saw something in you before you did.

As Sari puts it: "Every time you help someone see themselves more clearly, you are already an Ibu, in your own way."

So maybe, without knowing it, you're already someone's Ibu too.

Tag the woman who has been yours 🤍

I just love finding ways to express through movement what words sometimes cannot quite capture.

Ten years ago, I led my first graduation dance with Aidha @aidha.sg . And here I am, a decade later, putting together another movement piece inspired by the journeys of the women who walk through its doors. This year is even more exciting, as Aidha is celebrating its 20th anniversary! 🎉

There is something about these women and their journeys that gets to me. The courage, the wholeheartedness, the determination, and everything in between. I do not pretend to know all their stories, but I get to express a little of what I see and feel through movement. And that means a lot to me.🙏🏻

A little glimpse from our rehearsal. Cannot wait for graduation day! 💛 #AidhaGrad2026 by @sarisarius

A fitness test from 7 years ago. I was probably the oldest woman in the Fit Girl room. 😂
No dramatic before-and-after photos. No big transformation story.
It is a journey of strength. One that continues to this day. ❤️ #StrongWithSari by @sarisarius

Who am I becoming?
Recently, I was working with a group of leaders, exploring leadership through the lens of #StartWithWho. Before looking at what we need to do differently, we begin with who we are being. Sometimes, our response to the question “Who am I becoming?” is shaped by the leadership identity we have created for ourselves. Who we believe we should be. How we think we should show up. What we feel we need to prove.

Part of our work together was becoming aware of the beliefs and assumptions that may be holding us back from playing on a different stage. Beliefs about who we are, what we are capable of, and what leadership is supposed to look like. What if the identity that has brought us this far is also the one limiting who we could become? Growing as a leader is not only about developing new capabilities, but also about questioning the beliefs we have come to hold about ourselves.

And, as has become a recurring theme in my life as a coach, whenever I work with others, I inevitably find myself looking in the mirror too. The questions I invite others to explore are often the very questions I need to ask myself. Who am I becoming? What beliefs am I still holding on to? And what might become possible if I were willing to let them go? I am not standing outside this conversation as someone who has figured it all out. I am very much in it, too. #ThePowerOfBecoming by @sarisarius

I have a feeling one of my students is going to turn this photo into a sticker. Then again, there’s also a possibility that I’m just being overconfident. 😂 Either way, I’m probably going to delete this later.

Jakarta.

Capek? Iya. 😂
Tapi hati penuh. ❤️ by @sarisarius

Thank you @tobatenun for welcoming me into your space, inviting me to experience tenun up close, and styling me so thoughtfully in colours and pieces that felt true to me. @mozapramita

I came away with more than a deeper appreciation for the craft. I left reflecting on the threads I carry, too and how I choose to weave them forward. ❤️ #TheArtOfBecoming by @sarisarius
