T-7 Days…

Where do I start? As I look through my undergraduate journey, I am happy to say I changed for the better. For someone who was ready to submit their transfer forms during their first semester, let’s dive deep and see what stopped me from doing so.

Student Support Services. This program allowed me to not only knock out that summer requirement (lol), but to gain friends who I still lean on til this day. Coming in from highschool, I was an introvert and not sociable whatsoever. Being put in a dorm lifestyle for 7 weeks, and seeing the same people everyday will make you step outside that zone. In the end, it helped. This program gave me resources that benefited me in the long run. Listening to that advice alone, produced my first milestone that I made that summer and for that, I thank you💚

USF Athletics. I don’t know how I survived being there for 4 years, but I did. Within this workplace, I’ve developed a friendship that I wouldn’t change for the world. A dynamic duo if you will. The connection between her & a reconnection of an old friend helped me stick around even longer than I anticipated. For that, I thank you💚

As a FIRST GEN student, I am happy to say that I really put BTA to this degree. I hope I made everyone who’s watching proud!!!

I’ll Be a Delta Now You Know🐘…

To the Kappa Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., thank you for entrusting me with the legacy and traditions that started in ‘73. I thank you for all the personal development that I gained and opening my eyes to things I never seen before.

To my Spec… the love that we have for each other has always been unconditional. You have showed me the ropes through every part of my life. A shy little caterpillar that you took under your wing and helped me grow into a beautiful butterfly. So glad to have you apart of my circle; hopefully I’ve been making you proud thus far.

To Z.O.Z… What a journey it has been! You guys showed me the true meaning of embodying the 9 & I will cherish all the little things we did together. To the ones walking the stage with me; Im excited to see what you have in store & pray for blessings to come your way. To the ones Im leaving behind; Yall are almost there! Keep up the great work & Im ready to see what trail you leave behind as you continue to move forward. As we spread far and wide, remember our love for each other will always keep us close!

From prophytes, linesisters, neos, advisors, and to even the sorors I met along the way, thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a sister to a sister♥️

The Organization of Organizations.

The National Council of Negro Women, Inc. was the first organization, on campus, that caught my eye due to the simple fact that they have a unique presence on campus. The service, the sisterhood, the community; it was so refreshing to see. As a sophomore, I wanted to step outside my comfort zone and be around like minded individuals as well as people with similar ethnicities and background. I can 100% say that is exactly what I gained. The leadership, social skills, and connections that I acquired through this section has been remarkable! For that alone, I am forever grateful.

As I pass the torch, I’ll leave you with this quote: “Stop doubting yourselves. Have the courage to make up your minds and hold your decisions.” - Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune.
