Nearly a month without these clowns while traveling. Throwback to finishing up a project for @nicoleholliscollection before packing, Mossy and Sunny were on the packing crew (specializing in paper destruction). Thanks @markus.kager.studio for catching the chaos.” by @sasinun_zohm
The entrance to the LINE SF is like a portal. A curved wall directs your attention to a sculptural installation by Sasinun Kladpetch (@sasinun_zohm) that sprawls down the hallway, past the front desk, and into the lobby. For the installation, Sasinun collected found objects from the hotel’s construction site (formerly a parking lot) as well as moss, lichen, and twigs from Presidio Park (her favorite natural space in the city) and fused them with resin and concrete to create more than 300 individual elements for the piece. Sasinun’s work seeks to represent architecture and nature living together cohesively. It’s something she knows well from cohabitating with her love bird Mossy. Another collector of found objects, Mossy combines her own elements for a cozy nest, Sasinun says, “to create the best environment for herself.” Sasinun hopes her installation will create a similar feeling for patrons as they enter the LINE SF. ~ “Elements” is a short documentary by @peterelliotteaton about the artist and her process for creating this epic work.
