Passionate souls don’t fit into ordinary lives.

We don’t crave average love, surface conversations, or predictable stories.

We crave depth.
Fire.
Devotion.
Freedom.

The kind of life that leaves dirt on your boots, wind in your hair, and sunsets that remind you just how alive you really are.

Maybe that’s why Miss Dolly Sue and I understand each other so well.

We’ve both been misunderstood more times than we can count.

Too much.
Too wild.
Too intense.
Too spirited.

But maybe we were never meant to be understood by everyone.

Maybe we were only meant to find the ones who feel the same fire.

Out here beneath these blazing Arizona skies, we don’t have to explain ourselves.

We simply exist.

Two souls who choose adventure over comfort, loyalty over convenience, and a life that feels fully lived over one that simply looks good from the outside.

When someone else gets it, it’s a beautiful thing.

But if they don’t…

We’ll still be here, chasing another fiery sunset together.

Because a passionate heart isn’t dramatic.

It’s directional.

And sometimes the greatest gift isn’t finding someone who changes you

It’s finding someone, even if she has four legs, who reminds you that you were never too much to begin with.

I’m not building a perfect life.

I’m building a life I can’t wait to wake up to.

Some days are hard. Some days test everything in me. But those days remind me why I keep going.

Because when your life is built around purpose, freedom, horses, sunsets, and the people you love… the hard days become worth it.

This is why I don’t quit.

If I could offer every horseman and horsewoman one piece of advice, it would be…

Horsemanship is like parenting.

Horsemanship is not linear.

It is not one size fits all.

I’m raising three kids in the same house, and what works beautifully with one gets me absolutely nowhere with the next. Anybody who’s worked with more than one horse knows that feeling. 😂

At the little barn where I paid $40 a month to board my horse, I got shamed for buying a nice new saddle and pad. Then I showed up at the bougie barn with my rescue horse and got ridiculed because I didn’t have a $5,000 saddle. Depending on which barn gate I walked through, I’d either spent too much or I hadn’t spent enough.

The way you grew up shapes how you parent. The way you came into the horse world shapes how you ride. And the horse standing in front of you comes with a history, a personality and a few opinions of their own.

Somebody watching from the fence might wonder why I’m giving my horse ten minutes to do something they could get done in two. Meanwhile, I’m standing there proud as hell because last time it took us half an hour. That’s the part you can’t always see from the fence.

Most of us wouldn’t walk up to a mama in the grocery store and tell her how she ought to fix her little girl’s hair. I think we could give each other that same courtesy at the barn.

Find the horsewoman whose patience you admire when her ride goes sideways. Ask her questions. Learn from her. You get to choose whose advice you carry into the saddle. And the minute any of us decides we know it all, a horse has a way of laying us flat on our ass. 😂

I wish somebody had told me this back at that $40 barn. You’re allowed to be proud of your new saddle. You’re allowed to be just as proud riding your rescue into the fancy barn. Get comfortable in your own skin, because when you swing a leg over, it’s you and that horse. And the two of you know what it took to get there. 🤎 by @sassy.toscano

Be yourself. So that the people looking for you can find you by @sassy.toscano

To the girl who mentioned my old rusty trailer and my rescue horses… girl, I’m over here feeling like I hit the lottery. ❤️

I was just a woman with a dream. My husband told me I was crazy. My family told me I was stupid for chasing it. Now I get to load my horses into that rusty trailer, take my girls to races, and help other people’s dreams come true, too. When a woman finally takes the trail ride she’s wanted since she was a little girl, you better believe I’m proud of what got us there. Rust and all.

And yes, I’m keeping my 20-year-old rescue horses. They’ve spent the last 10 years giving me everything they’ve got. They know I rescued them, and I know they rescued me right back. It shows every day. Those horses are family, and I don’t trade in family for the newest model. If you think it’s time to replace them just because they got older, then no, we’re not alike. And I’m proud of that.

Owning a horse is becoming more of a luxury, and honestly, it shows in some people’s egos. I miss when seeing another horse person meant you knew you had a hand if you needed one. Lately, at races and out on the trail, it feels like people have an opinion about what you ride and what you haul it in before they even know your name. Don’t yuck somebody’s yum. You might be looking at everything she ever wanted.

I want my girls to be the ones who walk over and help somebody unload. I want them to slow down on the trail and say, “Come ride with us.” That’s how I want to change the horse world, and it starts with how we treat the person who pulls in next to us.

Let’s keep the West wild. We can be a little kinder to each other out here.

And if you ever need a hand, you know where to find me. I’ll be the one by the old rusty trailer. ❤️

The things you can’t control are testing your ability to control the one thing you can: your response.

That’s always the test.

It was the test yesterday.
It’ll be the test tomorrow.

Your subconscious mind is powerful. Be intentional about what you feed it.

Feed it possibility. Give it a vision worth chasing. Let yourself believe that what you want is actually available to you.

There’s a little magic in that shift. You start noticing doors you used to walk past. You move differently. You stop talking yourself out of the very things you’ve been asking for.

Belief is the blueprint. Your actions build the bridge.

Let your mind get familiar with the life you want. Then keep showing up like you belong there.

Be a little De-Lu-Lu until it’s your reality 💪✌️ by @sassy.toscano

You have the freedom to
experience happiness without needing to earn it through achievement. Not every day needs to be about overcoming something. Some days are simply invitations to enjoy life and embrace yourself exactly as you are. Life is constantly rearranging itself, presenting new opportunities to explore, experience, and discover all that is. Allow yourself to find joy in the unfolding, not just in the arrival. by @sassy.toscano
