I created drawings in collaboration with Joana P. R. Neves @joanaprneves inspired by the title of the new summer campaign fundraiser by Collective Aid: No More Deaths We are Auctioning them to support Collective Aid @collectiveaidorg and SOS MEDITERRANEE @sosmediterranee 🌍🚢 Your participation helps fund urgent support for people on the move, while advancing the @worldingproject mission to connect communities through shared experience and learning. Bid on donated artworks and show solidarity across borders. Each piece has a story; each bid strengthens practical aid, sea rescue efforts, and the kind of global cooperation we believe in. Worlding, Collective Aid and SOS MEDITERRANEE invite you to an exhibition & conversation around art, civil society and field action, sharing tales of a different kind of courage, in line with the theme of Refugee Week. EXHIBITION 18 – 20 JUNE | 12–9pm (free, booking advised) Across Lands and Seas is an invitation through photography, installation, VR, text and film to know the realities of those who cross lands and seas, and who Collective Aid and SOS MEDITERRANEE encounter, care for, and support on the field. Across Lands and Seas traces the continuum from water to soil, from the open sea to different lands, across borders. 19 JUNE (links in bio) 3-4 PM – WATERCOLOUR WORKSHOP: Painting with handmade inks, charcoal, soil pigments and salt. Exploring watercolour techniques, through a handmade approach with added mineral materials to explore texture. Led by Constança Saturnino 4 - 5 PM – WORD WORKSHOP: Words are important. They convey meaning and drive attention. But sometimes they fails us, mislead us or even intimidate us. This workshop stimulates a rediscovery of words, perhaps even helping you find your own. Led by Joana P. R. Neves. 6:30 EVENING CONVERSATION - WHAT COURAGE COSTS Refugee Week’s theme is Courage. There is no shortage of stories about it; still, some remain untold, unfathomable. • The courage to accept being helped, meaning: sacrifice of self, guilt of receiving what others didn’t.  • The courage found within discouragement—the last drop of energy when the work is hard.   Sam Pordale @sampordale fled Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover. Nine attempts to reach Europe before the UK. Supported by the Red Cross, he won a scholarship to the University of Warwick. He was named Big Issue Changemaker in 2024. He campaigns for the right of asylum seekers to work & study, and teaches English to those who endured the same journey.  Phoebe Boswell @phoebe.boswell artist, author of the Underground commission we move through scales of blue. Diverti-me muito a confrontar estas descobertas - novos ares circulavam!
