Back-to-Back Fires

On Wednesday, H&L responded to Hasbrouck Heights to assist in a structure fire on Meyers Ave, crews assisted in checking for extension after the fire had been knocked.

Then, on Friday, H&L was dispatched to Maywood on a report of a house fire, crews responded to the second floor being fully involved. Members went inside to assist and were soon forced to evacuate from deteriorating conditions. After the fire was knocked crews from H&L went back into to check for extension on the 1st floor. by @sbfdhooknladder

At approximately 16:22 hours on Monday, a general alarm was transmitted to Saddle Brook Fire Department for a reported patio fire involving patio furniture. Engine 1 was first due and arrived on scene with Hook & Ladder setting up in front of the residence. Engine 1 stretched a line into the house, while a crew from Ladder 3 conducted a primary search. Due to heavy fire conditions in the basement and second floor, and deteriorating conditions on the first floor, crews were removed from the building and a defensive attack was initiated. Ladder 3 then deployed the aerial, and the master stream was used to assist in fully knocking down the fire. by @sbfdhooknladder

Last night, what started as our annual Christmas party turned into a vehicle extrication as SBFD was dispatched to GSP for an mva with a reported entrapment. As engine 3 approached on scene we were directed to the second involved vehicle as rescue 1 worked on the first car. We secured power and worked on freeing the vehicle from the guard rails as we used cribbing, k12, cutters, spreaders and the tow truck to free the vehicle. by @sbfdhooknladder
