Last photos with you 💔😭 my heart is completely broken. You were the best dad and I don’t know how I’ll do life without you. I will watch every single Rabbitohs game with mum and when we score a try, I’ll kiss mum just like you used to. I will also eat an orange every single night, and I know you’ll be sharing it with me in spirit. I love you so much, Daddy. Thank you for everything 🫶🏼 by @scatterbrain_ks

Grief is a cruel wave of emotions. Some days I can’t even face that you’re gone, and then those quiet moments of reality wash over me and it all hits again, so heavy, so real.

Cancer takes someone in pieces. You watch parts of who they were slowly fade away.
It’s a loss before the loss.
A slow goodbye you never wanted to say.

And then when they finally have to go, you grieve it all over again, not just their last day, but every version of them you lost along the way.

Time feels like it’s moved unbearably slow and impossibly fast all at once these last three months.

I will forever miss you. by @scatterbrain_ks

Happy 68th birthday, Daddy!

I miss your silliness in photos, I miss the videos of you just being your funny self, I miss you coming over and standing around whilst mum and I would watch mafs and you would make your funny comments, and I miss watching the footy with you.

I miss you so much. I miss you every single day and that will never change 💔

Can’t believe this is the first one, and we have to do more of these without you 😭

We will be celebrating you tonight at one of your fav clubs 🍻
I hope the bunnies win this week for you ❤️💚 by @scatterbrain_ks

One year without you 💔😭

I can’t believe a whole year ago we were sitting with you in your hospital room in your final moments. Holding you, hugging you, telling you how much we loved you, playing your favourite songs and eating your favourite lollies in the early hours when that time finally came. 😭

We stayed there for hours afterwards, and none of us wanted to leave you. When is the right time to get up and leave the person you love more than anything in this world? There never really is one. We all did it, and somehow, we’ve survived this year without you here.

Life is still incredibly hard, and it always will be without you here.

Thank you, Daddy, for continuously sending me signs, reminding me that you’re still with me, and making me believe that I’ll see you again one day. 🫶🏼 by @scatterbrain_ks

I wish you were singing this to me in person, but I’m so thankful I have this voicemail of you singing happy birthday to me.
I know you’ll be here today with me and you’ll show me with your signs 💜 by @scatterbrain_ks

Every day is hard, but lately it’s just felt harder. Maybe because it’s getting closer to a year, which is absolutely insane to think about… almost a whole year without you here. 😭

I often think about what I would give to have just one more day with you. One more day with my dad as he was before cancer.

I hate that we don’t have many photos either. You were either taking them, or I was taking them of you and Mum.

A message to everyone: take all the photos you can with your loved ones. I wish I took more. 💜 by @scatterbrain_ks
