The older I get, the more I realize how important it is to know who you are — deeply.

People will have opinions. They’ll misunderstand you, project onto you, judge your choices, and sometimes tell a story about you that you don’t even recognize.

You don’t have to carry it.

Know your heart. Know your character. Know what you stand for. Keep growing. Keep taking accountability. But don’t confuse someone else’s perception of you with the truth of who you are.

There is so much freedom in becoming rooted enough in yourself to let people think what they want — without needing to prove them wrong. 🌻 by @scheinflower7

I don’t do
love casually.

When I let someone into my life, it means something.
My time, my energy, my heart—I give them intentionally.

I don’t know how to care halfway.
I don’t know how to love with one foot out the door.
When I choose someone, there is depth in it. There is honesty in it. There is a piece of me in it.

So no, love has never been casual for me.

If I let you close enough to hold my heart,
understand that I didn’t hand it to you lightly. by @scheinflower7
