THE WAY I SEE IT
with Augusto Schiavo

One Couple. Six Lessons.

After a lifetime in dance, I want to share how I see it—what I look for, what I feel, and why I teach the way I do.

I’m looking for one ballroom couple to join me for six free online lessons. A chance to explore movement, music, connection, and expression together.

You don’t need to be perfect. Be curious, open to new ideas, and ready to share your learning journey.

The lessons will be recorded, and edited episodes will be shared publicly on YouTube and social media, so others can learn with us.

Interested? Send me a private message with a short video of your dancing, a few words about yourselves, and your answer to this question:

“What would you most like to understand or change about your dancing?”

Please be ready to commit to all six lessons.

Let’s discover what we can learn together. by @schiavoaugusto

Adesso tocca a voi.

LAVORATE.
COSTRUITE.
UNITE.

Perché la danza italiana non ha bisogno di altre guerre.
Ha bisogno di un futuro.

What an unforgettable and truly special week.

My heart is full of gratitude for two very SPECIAL PEOPLE to me — Augusto and Brigita @schiavoaugusto @brigitaelksne @arthurmurrayintl — who created something far beyond simply a dance event. You created an experience that came straight from the heart, and that energy was felt across the entire world.

This week, the dancing community could feel and witness an incredible vibration of positivity, joy and passion through so many beautiful styles — Bachata, Salsa, Argentine Tango, Ballroom, American Smooth, and so many more.

But this event was never about results.

It was about unity.
It was about love.
It was about passion for dance.
And most importantly, it was about bringing people together through something we all love so deeply.

To celebrate 20 incredible years of Dance-O-Rama around the world is such an extraordinary achievement. For two decades, you have been creating memories, inspiring dancers and teachers, building friendships and connecting people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds through dance.

I feel incredibly grateful and honoured to have been part of this very special celebration.

Thank you, Augusto and Brigita, for the invitation, for this opportunity and, most importantly, for your trust! It means more than I can express.

You are very special people — not only to me, but to the entire dancing community. What you have created has touched so many lives, and I hope you are incredibly proud of the legacy you continue to build.

Congratulations on your beautiful success and your 20th anniversary. Here’s to many more years of bringing the world together through dance.

LOVE YOU LOTS! ❤️❤️❤️ by @schiavoaugusto

The Ballroom Frame: A Sanctuary, Not a Prison

“In ballroom dancing, the frame is meant to create a safe and beautiful alcove for the lady, not a prison made of stainless-steel arms.”

One of the most common misconceptions in ballroom dancing is that a strong frame means rigid arms, locked shoulders, and an iron grip.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

A ballroom frame is not built to control your partner—it is built to support them.…..continue on my fb page by @schiavoaugusto

Dear Kim,

I was heartbroken to hear about Cecil’s passing.

It is difficult to put into words what she meant to so many of us. For many years, Cecil was not only a competitor on the dance floor but also a dear friend and an important part of a wonderful chapter of our lives. We shared countless competitions, laughter, memories, and a passion for dance that created lifelong bonds.

Please know that my heart is with you and your family during this incredibly difficult time. I hope you can find strength in the beautiful memories you built together and in the love that surrounds you.

Cecil will always hold a special place in my heart, and she will be remembered with great affection, respect, and admiration by all of us whose lives she touched.

With our deepest sympathy and love,

Augusto by @schiavoaugusto
