Check out this cool gold feather bolo!!! It was originally a hair barrette from my friend @joliehollandmusic that she sent me and asked me to make a bolo out of it, so it's special. I attached a clasp on the back and put it on a leather thong and hand forged the copper and brass tips in the @scorpionforge74 scroll through for a couple pictures of me wearing it and a close up so you can see the tips, and then some of my other inventory items, like a turquoise chunk bolo, several neck pieces, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings with the usual moons, snakes, and spirals.

If you're a Jolie Holland 🎸🎶 fan like I am, then you probably already know she has Scorpion Forge rings on her merch table at her live shows, so maybe you'd like something special that came from her so if you buy this special piece I'll give her a cut of the price.

I need to sell a lot of jewelry the next few weeks to cover some bills and my doctor appointment, and I'm trying to get enough lagniappe to ride the train down to Austin to see some friends and maybe play a music gig or do a jewelry vend or maybe even do some film background work, just to help offset the cost of the trip and get out of my usual DFW bubble.

Today's background music is "Wreckage" by Jolie Holland, of course, off of her 2012 album Pint of Blood, so please like/follow her page and buy her music and merch. 🤗💖🎸🎶 by @scorpionforge74

There's a big yellow moon over Texas tonight! It's even brighter than it was last night. I'm watching it from my front porch in Springtown, Texas. Gotta love the old Bill Neely song. 🤠🎸🎶 I hear the coyotes howling in the distance and the neighborhood dogs barking back at them. The spirits are active, I was just chatting with Zoe in the kitchen a little while ago and SOMEBUNNY strummed two strings on my guitar on the stand in the living room when we were both hanging out in the kitchen and I don't have a cat or anything. Maybe it was just the palmetto bug or a June bug flying around, but I doubt it cause it didn't sound like a "thunk" sound, it was two strings plucked separately like "dum--dum" so it was one of our resident spooks. At least we know that they're music fans! I might have to play them some songs later or get out my Tarot cards and see if they have something special to tell me. 🤗👻🎸🎶 by @scorpionforge74

Shot in the dark here just to see if anybody actually wants to buy some @scorpionforge74 👩‍🏭 jewelry. These two slides are my whole existing inventory, but I can also make custom pieces if you have something in mind. I've been focused on gardening 👩‍🌾 a lot lately and I'm working on several other creative projects, and just life-ing, but so far that only pays me in zucchini 🥒. I need some groceries and stuff. I've got all of these on hand, but I would be more inspired to make some more new pieces if people would buy a bunch of the old ones. I've been a subsistence artist for several years, and my pieces used to sell pretty well but the last few months have been really dry for me. I haven't moved any merch since my music gig 🎸🎶 back in April, so I'm struggling, and trying to stay positive. I live out in the country in North Texas and don't have a car 🚫🚗 so I can't get out and about to do IRL music gigs or jewelry vends regularly, so I'm mostly online-only and kinda limited in my options here. I also have signed and numbered limited edition CDs available 🎸🎶💽of my DIY album "June Bug" that I recorded last year with 10 of my original songs and a track of bug noises and handmade original artwork on the covers if you're interested that too. PM me for purchase info.

Today's background music is one of my favorite songs from my sweet friend @joliehollandmusic called "I Wanna Die" so please give her a like and follow and buy her music and merch too!!! 🤗❤️🎸🎶💽 by @scorpionforge74

I'm getting some good stuff from my garden this week, mostly zucchini and yellow squash, green onions, and mint, and basil so far, the tomatoes and chile peppers, tomatoes, corn, and black-eyed peas are still in progress, and the pumpkins and okra and cantaloupes have a long way to go yet. It might be time to pull my potatoes pretty soon, and I have lots of flowers like sunflower, amaranth, giant marigolds, zinnias, and nesturtium...scroll through for more pictures, my garden looks pretty impressive from my driveway. I've been working on it since March, and it helps a little bit with my food insecurity cause I'm kinda struggling this year TBH. I've been trying to get creative with my squash, I have a spiral cutter so I spiral cut some yellow squash and served it with brown rice and Sriracha-peanut butter sauce and chopped green onions and basil from the garden and some Palestinian Zatar seasoning that my sweet friend @joliehollandmusic made special for me. It was so yummy!👩‍🍳

Today's background music is "And Sticky Blood" from my buddy @maxknouse , he's on tour with his band Califone in Europe right now. Please give him a like/follow and buy his music and merch. 🎸🎶 by @scorpionforge74

I was feeling sassy this morning so I thought I'd take some pictures with my @scorpionforge74 👩‍🏭 jewelry 😍❤️

My big necklace is made from carved and burned red oak from my back yard with a chunky forged copper spiral that I kept the black patina on and stabilized it with clear coat on a braided leather necklace with a 4-inch chain for adjustability, and the smaller necklace is a copper wire wrapped stone arrowhead with metallic beads on a leather string with a chain for adjustability.

My earrings are my classic copper crescent moon 🌙 design in the 1-inch diameter size. I can make them in different sizes and metals. My friend @tiffanypollacknola has some giant 2-inch ones in nickel-silver that she wears at her shows in New Orleans a lot, and her song "Sassy B*tch" is the featured background music on this post. Please give her a like/follow and buy her music and merch. 🤗❤️🎸🎶 by @scorpionforge74

HOLY GIANT MUSHROOMS, BATMAN!!! 😍🍄🍄🍄

I came out to check my garden this morning and I have probably the biggest mushroom I've ever seen in my life! Plus several other really big ones too. They're just the ordinary Green-Spored False Parasol (Chlorophyllum molybdites) mushrooms that are very common in my area of Texas, and unfortunately not edible or magic, but I don't think I've ever seen this species get this big before. The biggest one's cap is the diameter of a fajita-size tortilla so probably about 8-9 inches as big as my hand and about an inch thick. The others aren't quite as big but they're large and lots of them, there's even a mushroom growing under another mushroom! These are wild and toxic to eat but they're very good for my soil biome.

BEHOLD!!! 😍🥒 My very first harvest of the season, this beautiful zucchini! Obviously I had to make some food porn with it so I chilled it and diced it up with some fresh mint sprigs and green onions also out of my garden and made a little zucchini salad for me and @zoripardee56 my housemate, and I used some lovely Palestinian Zatar seasoning 🇵🇸 that my sweet friend @joliehollandmusic made special for me 🤗❤️, along with some oil (EVOO would be preferable but that's a luxury and I'm broke AF so I gotta put vegetable oil on my vegetables, just like you put motor oil in your motor, right?😉🛢️) and some ACV to make a little vinaigrette dressing. IT WAS SO GOOD!!!! 😋👩‍🍳

Today's background music is "Enjoy Yourself" from Jolie Holland who I already tagged, with a little help from her band mate Samantha Parton. Give her a like/follow and buy her music and merch. She's playing the KAKTUS festival in Norway 🇳🇴 this weekend on May 30th and she's always got some of my limited edition @scorpionforge74 rings 💍👩‍🏭 available on her merch table. 🤗❤️🎸🎶 by @scorpionforge74

Happy Memorial Day!!!

This is my current garden update for all my friends that are following it. My Zinnias and Rudbeckia are blooming, my Bluebonnets came back for a second round of blossoms, and I still have a few Indian Paintbrush and pink and purple Primrose around. I cut a whole wheelbarrow full of my wild lettuce that was bolted and gone to seed, too bitter to eat now, and used it for much in my new beds in the front.

I mowed my backyard so I can use it better and around my front garden beds to keep the Bermuda grass down around them. I've got lots of baby yellow squash and a couple zucchinis, and a few little New Mexico chiles and jalepeño peppers and cherry tomatoes in progress. I have green onions the size of cornstalks, lots of black eyed peas and frijoles pintos (just plants so far), big sunflower plants that haven't bloomed yet, corn that's starting to get tassels, and lots of mint plants that I just transplanted around my porch by my big poke plant. I just made two new beds this week that I planted with Swiss chard, more peppers and tomatoes and zucchini on the first one and the rest of my peppers and some Jack O' Lantern pumpkins 🎃 for Halloween and some more beans.

I still need to make some more hills or another row to accommodate my cantaloupe and okra sprouts and I'll probably pair them with some more black eyed peas. I have more mint and rosemary cuttings rooting in my bottle terrariums and some tiny basil sprouts started in my coffee cans. It's time consuming, but I'm doing it all on a shoestring investment of about $50 bucks (starving artist) and half of that was just a bag of organic fertilizer and some diatomaceous earth to control the fire ants.

If you care to donate to my garden and groceries fund my Venmo is kat-francis-4 or my CashApp is $katfrancis74 💸 or buy some of my @scorpionforge74 👩‍🏭 jewelry, order a custom piece, or check out my music page @katfrancis74 🎸🎶 and buy my DIY album "June Bug" on CDs

Today's background music is "Highway 72" from my sweet friend @joliehollandmusic 🎸🎶 with a little help from @buckmeek from Big Theif off of her album "Haunted Mountain". Please follow them and buy their music/merch. by @scorpionforge74

Okay, this is the last of my leftover music videos from a few weeks ago, my original song "Hello Cleveland", a tribute to all my touring musician friends. I'm gonna have to actually start making some new 🎸🎶 videos after this, LOL

If you care to donate to my online tip-jar my Venmo is kat-francis-4 and my CashApp is $katfrancis74, every little bit helps, and don't forget to buy some @scorpionforge74 👩‍🏭 handmade jewelry, I just posted a couple new pieces on that channel the other day. Hit me up in the PMs for custom pieces too. by @scorpionforge74

I made these cute earrings out of a woven cotton coin purse that I cut in half and added some grommets and earring hardware. I also found this stone arrowhead necklace that I made some other year and it was in a Ziploc bag in my workshop so I got that out too. Hit me up if you want these or something else like them. 👩‍🏭

Today's background music is "Colors" from my friend @tiffanypollacknola cause I know she digs the really big earrings! Please give her a like/follow and buy her music and merch or catch her live shows in New Orleans. 🤗💜🎸🎶⚜️ by @scorpionforge74
