Excuse: We just met 4h before the race and never practiced the transitions… 😂

22 seconds short of sub 60. But 24 hours later, I’m proud. 🖤

The goal for Hamburg was clear: break the sub-60 barrier in Double Men Pro.

Unfortunately, the preparation was anything but smooth. Injury setbacks, a long break from running, and a Relay race the day before. The signs weren’t great, but the goal never changed. I gave it everything I had.

When I crossed the finish line, I was disappointed. 22 seconds short. So close, yet so far.

But looking at the past few weeks, there’s a lot more to this result than just a time.

New job. Bought an apartment that’s currently undergoing a complete renovation. Countless hours on the construction site, stripping wallpaper, ripping out floors, carrying stuff up and down stairs. Physical and mental stress, very little time to train, and barely any proper preparation.

And still, a new PB. With a Relay race the day before.

24 hours later, the disappointment has turned into pride. Pride in myself, in my partner @lukasjochheim who I met just a couple of hours ago (thanks to @tim_wenisch - Lukas was the best blind date I could have asked for ☝🏼🫶🏼), and in my friends @olivierre @philipp_schatz05 (congrats to your first sub60 ❤️) @_maagggusss_ , @itschefpaolo & Renato, who made this weekend so special. 🫶

New friendships, unforgettable moments, shared suffering, shared victories. This is what makes this sport so special.

HYROX brings people together. I know I keep saying it, but I genuinely mean it. ❤️‍🔥

A massive thank you to everyone who supported, cheered, and pushed us along the way. You made a difference! @katimyr_ @annamaria.geist @sophia_27_11_ @fifi_healthyideas @frnzska @_sophialeona @jennifer.hem

The sub 60 is still out there. 👀

Next stop: Düsseldorf. Two weeks to go. Let’s see what’s possible. 🔥
