POSTS STORIES REELS

People ask how I ended up here.

The honest answer: I’m not sure there was ever another option.

I was always outside. Always drawn to animals. Always chasing whatever adventure was in front of me.

Some days are perfect. Some are rough. All of them feel like exactly where I’m supposed to be.

A lot of laughs, a lot of fun, and a lot of great work done on the first part of our South African adventure with @the.sosa and @wildtomorrow

(yes, that is animal poo I’m throwing at one of the guests)

A glimpse into bits of what it takes to conserve cheetahs her at @ccfcheetah with @myfahlo

This was such an incredible project to be a part of and I can’t wait to be back!

This was a training scenario. The work it trains for is very real.

Last week, rangers, reserve managers and police officers spent five days at Wild Tomorrow’s Conservation Centre on a Wildlife Crime Scene Investigative Techniques training course with Wildlife Defense. Evidence handling, scene photography, and how to build a case that actually holds up.

Because most poaching cases don’t fall apart in the bush. They fall apart in court. If the evidence isn’t right, poachers walk free.

On Friday, they graduated. Now they’re back on their reserves, doing it for real.

Thank you @wildtomorrow for hosting, and @wildlifedefenseinc for running the course.

Field Notes #2 🦈

There is so much more to sharks than one might realise and this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to these magnificent animals!

Did you know all of these?

A glimpse into life back home before the work starts again! by @scott.brads

You can’t keep pouring from an empty cup and expect nothing to give.

The work will always be there. The dream will still be waiting. But you have to take care of the person trying to make it happen.

Take the break. Push someone you love in the water. Then get in yourself. 🤝 by @scott.brads

Sea turtle hatchery, beach erosion, and a run in 30°C humidity. Quick one on why you’ll never see me “just jumping in the sea” out here: this stretch has rip currents strong enough that swimming isn’t allowed, and a salt bath leaves you stickier than you started. So @shwr.co wipes come with me instead, the perfect way to finish a run. Packed in, packed out, nothing left on the beach but footprints.

Happy World Animal Day 🌍

This year’s theme is “see the world through their eyes”…

“No one will protect what they don’t care about and no one will care about what they have never experienced.”
David Attenborough

So today, take a moment to see the world through the eyes of whatever animals cross your path, big or small.
