Did a Halloween ‘cleanse’ on the 7. Taking a break, maybe do the other one. Andddd both need inspections. It would be nice if when a car reaches 25 years old they would just say “pay the taxes, and you’re good.” 🧽 💸 #NRVOUS7 #s62swape38 #stratusgray #e38 @bmwclassic by @scotthduke
I’ve been running around for several months with no passenger side mirror, picked up this new old stock factory mirror and decided to go ahead and put that on today as well. Onward. #gmt400 #99gmt454 #chevyrunsdeep #chevy2500 by @scotthduke
Checked another item off the list. The rear bumper is on, not too bad of a job! #99gmt454 #gmt400 #suburban #chevytrucks by @scotthduke

Day 5 ~ The guys had previous stops, got here at 3pm and stayed until 930pm. They spent the evening finishing the pantry and closet. They grouted the area where the washer & dryer sit so I can wash clothes as well. I’ve just hooked those up so now it’s a waiting game to see when the black tile arrives and when they’ll be back. The box says Corpus Christi, Texas so that is my best guess on where they have to come from by way of Indonesia. so things are on pause until they are not… #1969azalea #checkerboardfloor #PorcelainTile #madhatter #renovación by @scotthduke
Day 4 ~ Today the foyer was completed in terms of laying tile and the pantry is on its way. The black tile has been ordered but it could be a month before the installer returns due to other scheduled work. The pantry area where the washer & dryer sit will be finished today so they can be moved back in. This will allow me to wash clothes over the next month. Aside from that….ill be on cement for awhile. #renovation #1969azalea #checkerboardfloor #blacktrim #delays by @scotthduke
Day 3 ~ Today the underlayment was completed, bonded to the subfloor with thinset & fasteners. The black tile was ordered i think, I’m waiting to hear. Tomorrow they’ll return and lay what tile they can with what’s left which is around 150sqft before black tile will run out. My washer & dryer are in the garage so things are disjointed until the porcelain is here in its entirety. So, like anything else, you work through it, adapt and wait it out. Access is limited to my bedroom, office and bathroom - so I’m eating dinner in bed most nites. The guys just left at 10pm. Onward! #azalea1969 #porcelaintile #checkerboardfloor #madhatterteaparty by @scotthduke
Day 2 ~ Today the crew picked up & delivered the cement board and the tile. Based on some collective calculations they sent too much white tile and not enough black, by far. Tomorrow the remaining thinset & underlayment will go down and they’ll start installing the tile. I’m doing a perimeter in black so I’m assuming that’s where they’ll start. The crew lives all the way out in Pittsboro so start time is 1030am range. They left around 830pm tonight. I think things will go faster now with exception to sourcing more black tile. This thing might get paused longer that I care to think about. At least the noise will die down after the remaining underlayment is installed. We’ll see what tomorrow brings. Shoes off policy is about to piss people off. #1969azalea #porcelaintile #black #white #renovación by @scotthduke
Day 1 ~ Original and other later flooring removed in preparation for the porcelain flooring. Under the carpet we found vinyl from 1969. Astronauts were landing on the moon, corvettes were the transport of choice and colors like green and harvest gold were abundant and mined from all corners of the earth. It’s nostalgic to see it and I’ll save a scrap for the home album to pass along to the next owners when I too am obsolete; hopefully decades from now. Nothing is promised. Until then, I’m trying to bend this pile of bricks into something fine, not overdone, functional, classy and timeless. More to come at the end of tomorrow. #1969Azalea #homeownership #renovation #oldfloor by @scotthduke
A little progress on the Suburban. Removed the black rear bumper; chrome one on standby. Needed to paint behind it, so got that done. The hood had more pings & dents than could be dealt with so I bought a new one. Dropping that off tomorrow to be painted. That’ll probably be it for awhile aside from installing the rear bumper…unless I find a really great deal on tires & wheels. I’ll be selling the alloy wheels that are on it now they’re just not for me. Onward! #gmt454 #gmt400 #obschevy #suburban @precisionfitandfinish by @scotthduke
