It was great to see Matthew Cordell last night talk about his new picture book about David Bowie! Matthew talked about the inspiration, showed the process, and discussed the details behind the book. He even did a live portrait of Bowie while blasting some tunes! You can get a copy wherever books are sold! @cordell_matthew @stimolaliterarystudio @guestroomrecordslouisville @carmichaelsbookstore #davidbowieart #childrensbookillustration #kidlitart #picturebookart by @scottsoeder

Had a great time at the #skippingstones26 retreat at the 577 Foundation. Got to spend some time with the regional team there, art director extraordinaire Tracy Shaw, my fantastic agent Allison Remcheck, and lots of new and old book friends.

More character studies for this project. Making more drawing to see where I could push and exaggerate motion etc while still being somewhat on model.

We are beyond pumped that our song, "On My Way" will be featured in the documentary, "Forged in Failure", chronicling ultrarunner @kiliankorth who won the Triple Crown of 200s, in 2025.

Special thinks to Kilian and creator, @liucreativeco for including our song in this incredible documentary.

"Forged in Failure" premiers this Saturday, at 7:00 pm est on the @ultraspire YouTube channel. Tune in!!!

THE QUEST IS COMPLETE.

Three races.

Six hundred and forty miles.

One unbreakable will.

Tahoe 200. Bigfoot 200. Moab 240.
Together, they forged something historic - a new Triple Crown record:
156 hours, 30 minutes, 20 seconds.

What a journey.

What an accomplishment.

What a human.

What a team.

From blistered feet to lightning storms, from doubt to destiny - they did it.

This is more than running.
It's endurance defined.

It's forged in failure. by @scottsoeder

Latest addition to my studio library. Fantastic art and super-fun stories by @brandonjamesscott and @harpercollins. Highly recommend. #kidlitart #skeletonandcat #picturebookillustration #illustrations by @scottsoeder

Character idea for a new project. And I know what you are going to say… “Scott, how did you come up with an outfit that is SO dapper, so stylish, so suave?”

Well, keep swiping.
