5 tips every female diver should know, and they should teach you in your Open Water course but don’t 🫩 Got any more wisdom to share with girls who dive? Add them in the comments 👇🏻 by @scubanikky
New year, same hobby 🤿✨ If you’re new here, hi! I’m Nikky, a Dutch girl living in Spain, creating content about scuba diving and what it’s really like to be a woman in a male-dominated industry. On this account you’ll find: 🌊 relatable dive moments & practical advice 🤿 honest conversations about taboos in the diving world 🤍 and a woman who genuinely loves connecting with other women in diving A little about me: I’m a PADI MSDT, Mermaid Instructor, EFR Instructor, and (amateur) content creator, working with brands I could only dream of a few years ago. My goal is simple: • connect women • create dive buddies all over the world • make diving feel more female-friendly If you’re new here, welcome 🤍 If you’ve been here a while, thank you for being part of this journey. 👉 Drop a 🌊 if you love the ocean, and tell me where you’re from. by @scubanikky
🌊 This is more than a dive trip. It’s a shared experience. An all-female liveaboard created for women who want adventure, connection, and conscious diving in one unforgettable journey. Safety, sustainability, and care are at the heart of this trip. 🛡️ Safety & awareness I am a proud ambassador for @diveassure , promoting the importance of proper dive insurance and safety awareness within the diving community. 🌱 Eco-conscious diving As a certified @green_fins Guide, this liveaboard follows environmentally responsible diving practices, with respect for marine life and our oceans at the core. 🧴 Reef-safer products on board All personal care products available on board are from @stream2sea , ensuring everything we use is formulated for both divers and our waters. 🌍 An international experience Women from all over the world are welcome. I host and guide the trip in English, Spanish, and Dutch, creating a comfortable and inclusive space for everyone on board. This trip is for women who: ✨ want to dive with purpose ✨ value safety and sustainability ✨ love meaningful travel ✨ and are ready to share an adventure with like-minded women 📩 DM me for full details Limited spots available. Some experiences don’t fit in a suitcase. They stay with you long after the journey ends. 💙 by @scubanikky
Missed the countdown? Stay on the boat. 🛑 3… 2… 1… everyone rolls. Except you. 😬 And then that little voice kicks in: go, go, GO, you’re holding everyone up. Don’t!!! ⚠️ Your buddies are probably still bobbing right next to the boat. You’d be dropping in backwards with a steel tank on your back, and a valve or first stage to someone’s face is not how anyone wants to start a dive… 😥 ✅ Missed it? Here’s what you do: • Stay seated • Tell the crew • Wait for their “clear” The driver will simply reposition the boat and drop you in safely. Nobody’s annoyed. Nobody’s judging. It happens all the time! (Even to me!) 💡 Better yet: speak up before the count starts. Mask leaking? Reg not in? Fin strap loose? Just say “WAIT.” That’s literally what the crew is there for. Being the last one ready doesn’t make you a bad diver. Rushing does!! 😬 On our all-female liveaboards, nobody rushes you and nobody rolls their eyes when you need a second. We go when you’re ready. 💜🐠 Join me on a trip! Take a look at @scubanikky by @scubanikky
I’ll start 🐠 - ask local women through socials what dive centre/boat they recommend! Usually we will know who the bad dive centres are and we can warn you 🩷 Your turn 👇🏻 by @scubanikky
Here are more reasons to book with me 👀👇🏻 🐠 Nitrox on every dive. More bottom time and less tired after diving. As we have a collaboration with PADI, there is a MASSIVE discount on the PADI Enriched Air Diver course! 🌭 You won’t go hungry. There’s unlimited snacks (even veggie snacks!!) and of course 3 meals a day with unlimited food. 🧘🏻‍♀️ Relaxation is key, which is why we will be doing some relaxing yoga sessions in the morning 🫁 ✨ No surprises. Everything is transparent and open, no hidden costs at all. 🗓️ Best periods. I only travel in the best periods: cheaper flights, warm sea but cold enough for the big animals to pop up 👀 think of sharks, dolphins and gorgeous turtles swimming up to meet us! Need even MORE reasons?? Comment LOB and I’ll send you some more 🫶🏻 by @scubanikky
Imagine staying away from an all female liveaboard… because you think you’re not good enough 😟 🤍 No, you don’t need to be the most experienced, or be an instructor. What’s required? 🐠 The Advanced Open Water cert (or equivalent). THAT’S IT. ✨ 4 weeks left until we’re in Egypt exploring the Red Sea with women only, and you shouldn’t miss it! 😍 👇🏻 More info? comment LOB by @scubanikky
I’ll start 👇🏻 by @scubanikky
10 years of diving, and I stood on both sides of the briefing. These truly are the things nobody says out loud, but should 😔🫶🏻 Instructors: what would you add? Divers: which one did you need to hear? Let’s chat about it 👇🏻 by @scubanikky

Sometimes it can be disappointing 🥲 by @scubanikky
We put our dive instructors on a pedestal. That’s exactly what makes us vulnerable. If you’ve ever felt uncomfortable in a situation like this, or if it went further than discomfort, I am so sorry. This is a fear almost every woman in this industry carries, even if she’s never said it out loud. 😣 Until their mentality changes, here’s what we can do for each other 🧵 (swipe for the rest) If this is your story too, talk to someone. Talk to me, or someone you trust. 💙 This is exactly why all-female liveaboards exist. Not because every man is a threat, but because every woman deserves to feel safe.
