Some journeys arrive when you need them most. 🤍

A month ago, at the Moonshot Young Leaders Camp @moonshot in Prague, I met Her Highness Radhikaraje @radhikaraje and Meenal @meenaljhalasinghdeo . They were a moderator and mentor, and although we were never assigned to the same class or workshop, we found each other beyond the programme through a shared passion for heritage, craftsmanship, sustainability and ethical labour.

We spent hours exchanging ideas, sharing our work and perspectives, and I found myself opening up about the challenges I face as a young designer and leader building my practice in Lebanon.

At the end of the camp, Radhikaraje invited me to come experience URJA in Vadodara, Gujarat and I am so grateful that I did.

URJA brought together more than 60 artisans, craftspeople and designers from across India, all working in their own ways to preserve, celebrate and carry forward the richness of Indian heritage and craft.

To witness this up close was incredibly inspiring. Seeing everyone dressed in saris, traditional garments and their own creations, without the need to look towards Western influences, was a powerful reminder of the beauty and strength that exists within our own cultures.

For me, this journey was much more than a trip. It recharged my batteries, reminded me why I started, and gave me renewed motivation to keep going ; to keep creating, questioning, preserving and building, no matter how difficult the road can sometimes feel.

I return home from India with a full heart, a clearer vision, and even more belief in the importance of what we do.

Thank you, Radhikaraje, for opening this door for me. And thank you URJA, Vadodara, for reminding me that heritage is not something we simply inherit, it is something we keep alive. 🤍
