Made with love to support my sister's indie film @thelasthike_film Directions and opening times @sculpturegalleryleeds by @sculpturegalleryleeds

Loving the light at Tre Luci Studios on my penultimate day in paradise. It’s living up to its name meaning 3 lights with bounced light surrounding me.

The form is getting there with lots more still to do to get the right lines and smooth elegant finish.

I will drive home Wednesday via Biella and Troyes and finish @1853studios and then show in our gallery @sculpturegalleryleeds later in October. by @sculpturegalleryleeds

Something a little different is happening at Oasis Centre, Boston Spa this November.

From 6–8 November, The Sculpture Gallery at Leeds Corn Exchange will be presenting a weekend of sculpture, creativity and making, with an exhibition of work from resident artists alongside two practical workshops.

I’ll be running Clay, Creativity & Wellbeing on Saturday 7 November.

The session starts with an informal illustrated talk about my own work, creativity, inspiration and the relationship between making and wellbeing, before moving into a relaxed, practical clay session.

No previous experience is needed. It’s simply a chance to explore the material, make something and enjoy the process.

Also taking place across the weekend:

Sculpture Exhibition | 6–8 November
A free exhibition featuring work by artists from The Sculpture Gallery, Leeds Corn Exchange.

Stone Carving Workshop | Sunday 8 November
Sculptor David Iredale will be leading a hands-on introduction to stone carving and traditional tools, suitable for complete beginners.

📍 Oasis Centre, Boston Spa
📅 6–8 November 2026

The exhibition is free to attend and the workshops are booked separately.

Full details and booking links for all three events can be found via the link in @titanic_pete’s bio.

Hope to see some of you there.

ODIN 2026 - reclaimed 100 year old sandstone

I’ve been digging into my own ancestry — my Norman surname, Yorkshire, and the Viking histories tangled through both.
The deeper you dig, the less romantic history becomes. Conquest, migration, violence and belief sit alongside extraordinary mythology, ritual and awe.
Odin the god of war, wisdom, poetry and the dead — felt an appropriate figure for that contradiction.
Carved from roughly 100-year-old Yorkshire sandstone, with a figure painted onto its surface from an image taken at an Imbolc celebration here in Marsden.
I’m interested in paganism not as something dark or sinister, but in our enduring need to mark the seasons, gather, make symbols and find meaning in the landscape around us.

Don’t miss @kimharleygriffiths stunning exhibition at @sculpturegalleryleeds which ends on Bank Holiday Monday 31st August.

You will be enchanted by her intriguing pieces inspired by Welsh folklore. by @sculpturegalleryleeds

I have only just over a week left as August’s guest artist at The Sculpture Gallery Leeds. It’s been a privilege to have my work displayed in such a beautiful gallery and all the lovely comments I’ve received. #sculpturegalleryleeds #welshfolkloreandmythology #maydayfestival #ceramicsculpturefolk #guideofsouls by @sculpturegalleryleeds

NEW EXHIBITION | Kim Harley-Griffiths
We are delighted to welcome the extraordinary ceramic sculptures of @kimharleygriffiths to The Sculpture Gallery.
Inspired by the ancient woodlands of North Wales and the rich mythology of The Mabinogion, Kim's intricate, hand-built sculptures blur the boundaries between flora, fauna and folklore. Each piece invites a closer look, revealing remarkable layers of texture, craftsmanship and storytelling.

Join us on Saturday 2nd August as we unveil Kim's latest collection.

Inspired by the ancient woodlands of North Wales, Kim's sculptures draw on Welsh folklore and The Mabinogion, where nature, myth and memory become inseparable.

Delicate botanical forms merge with animal anatomy, exploring transformation, identity and the blurred boundary between the real and the mythical.

Every sculpture is hand-built in clay, layering intricate textures that reward slow looking and invite the imagination to wander. by @sculpturegalleryleeds

What a lovely, relaxed evening we had, working our way through six glasses of Sardinian wine under the magnificent dome of @leedscornex at our second Meet the Artist event with @sculpturegalleryleeds 🍷

This time, we threw the spotlight on Gallery co-founder @david.iredale who, not content with having had one successful career as an engineer, decided on retirement to take up another as a professional sculptor.

He brings his engineer’s eye for proportion and measurement to the human form, recreating it in multiple mediums, including the finest Italian marble.

If you haven’t seen the Gallery’s magnificent (and magnificently free!) Sculpture North Summer Exhibition yet, please do hurry! There is just over a week left to view the work of 20 artists who’ve contributed to the show. It’s well worth a visit.

As ever, our thanks to The Sculpture Gallery for hosting, to David and our fabulous guests, @metz_cheesemonger for the delicious cheese, and not forgetting our amazing Sardinian winemakers: @lacasadisophia (sharing their organic carignano for the first time 👌), @cantina_il_grappolo_doro @tenutemonteonigu_ @wineryaru and Fratelli Traverso

Numbers are limited for these special events. If you'd like to join us next time in this superb space, DM us for dates 😊👩🏽‍🎨
