POSTS STORIES REELS

IG knows I'm one for long captions, so here we go..

Come quite a way from the Fifth floor//New Jack City (iykyk), and everyone else did same with their own unique plots. Each person having all-different character arcs and friend groups from different sectors and new phases of their lives.

In the moment, time seems slow and 'tomorrow' feels like a week away. Until you blink and it's not January anymore. It's August. And your world is ending again, for another rebirth.

You look back and realize your life stories could actually be likened to the plot of some of your favorite TV shows. Like —Grown•ish.. well, a watered down but equally as elaborate version of it. Just as I admire writers for the creativity of developing characters separately and bringing them together, God is doing something out of this world with a cast of 8b+.

This year, like every college student's final year in college, has been characterized by finding independence, expressing cultural and political views (alias TA podcast sessions), academic and career stress, creating our self-image, drama, friendship and loyalty.

Seeking God, seeking peace, within the turmoil of "What Next?".

Everyday 'How are you preparing for the future? What does the future hold for me?'.
That's passive.

Is this future you speak of prepared for ME? Cause I have plot twists of my own. Our stories are already written.

Guess this means we're grown now. We're grown —we're grown!

SJ2/ The Quartwheel of Inextroverts.

In the process of growing forward, and not necessarily up, I find that SJ has revealed to be a part of me. A reflection of mood, behaviour, feelings and beliefs.
Inextroverts.
You seem quiet from the beginning, with your large doe eyes. You seem reserved, at the back seat of a class of 129, all the time.
Hard to be convinced to crack a smile..
.. until it's been 7 years, until it's been 10, and you realize you've been rotf laughing like a hyena for a while.

Searching for your identity has been the Hallmark of many in their 20s. Putting our own selves in boxes until we criticize others for doing so. Being defined by strangers until it's time to break free, and let go.

So this is to the Inextroverts. The loners, to calling you at 5am just to try an outfit inspo. The sending you 50 reels a day, because that's how you keep a hold. The cannot be reached, to can not afford to miss making memories. The happy with company, until your social battery is dead and you wish you were home. You grew forward. With all the ups and downs, it's not a linear journey. You're weaving a life tapestry, alternating between 4 strings:
1. Official: The side of you that has dreams and aspirations. Partly because you have to have to.
2. Cool: The side of you that's revealed when unfamiliarity fades away, and those who eventually become close cared enough to notice.
3. African: The side that realizes that there's as much relevance and beauty in who you are as a group as finding your place as a person.
And 4. Quirky: The part people see from the beginning. And they call you weird because their weird was unanimously voted cool. So they criticize you. And You criticize you. And you criticize YOU.

Until you realize it's okay. It took years but you realize it's okay to be official, an African, quirky and sometimes cool. :)

When you meet me, we'll play roulette and spin the quartwheel. Whichever quarter it lands on, is as good as any other to start from. SJ2 let go.

-goodbye to the end of beginning.' -Djo

Full Circle.
.
.
If there is one thing I learnt today, it's that life is like one pesky but hilarious serving of what you ordered vs. what you got.
There are plans that start out as ideas, ideas that solidify into goals, and goals that are realized with the right drive and support.
And THEN..there are days that those plans look like you didn't spend 30 days planning 6 hours. Days that you know you look good but can't seem to get the picture you want. Days, when you are served something you didn't pay for.

But those are just days within years. Minutes within hours. One 'bad' hair day within a hundred, no, a thousand good ones.
We've come full circle, together, and yet still on our own; realizing that we share issues and joys. Well, life is a rollercoaster ride, and the people you keep around you simultaneously help you keep it together while altogether breaking you apart...

...to build you right back up again. Because that's what friends do. Imperfect as we are, we MUST make adjustments, we compromise..and occasionally learn the love language perfectly customized for those persons. But ultimately, it's your personal decision to reflect, and hold on to the positives or negatives in every situation.

And in Barbie's words [with some alterations] to Tika the selfish-with-love elephant;
"Not to keep to ourselves all alone.
If we make room for someone new,
Doesn't mean that there has to be less for you;
Only means that our circle has grown.
Love knows. Love grows. Bigger than before.
And in your Heart, there's ALWAYS more."

All we do, is choose people.. but something wonderful and worthwhile happens... when those people choose you, too.

I think i'll take my whiskey (friends) neat. With the drama, with the tears, with the laughter..and with the Heart.

LM 4evr. God, I'm grateful.

I know I know: too little too late.

Didn't think this would make it to my IG gallery but since I want my account to be a time capsule I can travel to when I'm way older(God-willing) and smile, here it is. Little late..

..but still counting my blessings.
This is truly goodbye, 2024.
"You didn't do internship this vac? Why, what were you doing?"

Me at the final hours of the year: piecing together my life. Looking back to move forward.

Life can be really tough, but there must be something you're grateful for. by @scytherella_

2024: To more reasons to exclaim ahn ei, and thank you, Lord Jesus. by @scytherella_

Setting: You're almost done with your first 4 years in Architecture school, and somehow you're still alive?
Might leave with a degree and severe army-level character building, but not just that; a package complete with anxiety attacks, pre-traumatic and post traumatic stress, a keen sense of time ticking worse than what Captain Hook had and loads of PSD and RVT files weighing your mind and PC down. Why? Lolx. Guess we'll have to find out what the future has to answer for it.
All the same, didn't leave without finding myself in a class where each person influenced my life, one way or another. Guess that's one good thing about sharing a class filled with students from Visual Arts, Science and General Arts backgrounds; you get a piece of all the good stuff.
So now we say el taruta de lai tata, with heavy laptops in our bags, and piles of mercilessly written on sheets each graduate of the 4th year class of BSc. Architecture, KNUST looks forward to whatever next the future holds. And if we made it through the last 7 years who's to say we're all not superheroes? On God chale. by @scytherella_
