Last weekend, this incredible cast and crew brought ‘Solid as Stone’ to life as part of the Seattle Horror 48. I could not be more proud of these passionate, talented local creators who each brought relentless dedication and positivity to set. Very special thanks to @nickysmitfilms who helped make it happen. Excited to share the fruits of our labor on the big screen, Monday October 26 at 6pm at the SIFF Uptown Cinema. #seahfphorror26 taken in Seattle, WA by @isaachandelman

“Film really makes you make faces and hold your body in a way only biblical amounts of internet memes can surmount” - Will Briggs

Our short horror film premieres this month at the SIFF Uptown in Seattle, Washington for the 48 hour horror film festival.

In this competition festival you only have 48 hours to write, film, edit, score, act out, do hair, do makeup, make props, set up/tear down locations, choose a title, color grade, figure out camera angles, deal with logistics, sort equipment issues, styling clothes and sets. Literally EVERYTHING!!!!

On top of that, you don’t know what subgenre, prop, character, and line of dialogue you are assigned to until 7:00pm Friday, and must have submitted to the minute by 7:30pm Sunday (they were graceful in giving 30 minutes to get home lol).

We rushed as fast as possible, only sleeping an hour or two a night and submitted our film at 7:24pm.

We’re incredibly proud of it and looking forward to seeing what the competition leads to for us as young indie filmmakers ♥️

🎬 FILMMAKERS — COME MEET IATSE LOCAL 488!

CREATE48 Media Network and IATSE Local 488 are getting together for a Filmmaker Mixer at Harbor Island Studios — and you’re invited.

Whether you’re just getting started, have years of experience, are curious about union work, or simply want to connect with more people in Seattle’s film community, come hang out with us.

Members of IATSE Local 488 will be there to meet filmmakers, talk about their different crafts and career paths, answer questions, and help demystify the union — what it is, how it works, and what a pathway into union film work can look like.

With the Seattle 48 Hour Horror Film Project kicking off October 9, it’s also a great opportunity for participating filmmakers to meet experienced industry professionals and make connections before competition weekend.

🍕 And yes, we’ll feed you!
Pizza and beverages will be provided by CREATE48 Media Network and the Seattle 48 Hour Film Project.

📅 Thursday, October 1
⏰ 6:00–8:00 PM
📍 Harbor Island Studios
3235 16th Ave SW, Seattle

Come meet people. Ask questions. Make connections. Eat some pizza. Learn more about working in Seattle’s film industry.
