Hi, I’m Ruby 👋 the face behind Second Snuggle, mum to three, tea lover, and professional laundry folder (or at least it feels like it most days 😅).

Like so many of you, I know exactly what it’s like to juggle all the things like juggling school runs, endless snacks, outgrown clothes piling up in corners, and that constant feeling that there just aren’t enough hours in the day. 💫

That’s honestly where Second Snuggle began, from the chaos of family life and a love for making things just a little simpler (and kinder to the planet). I wanted to create a space where parents could shop preloved for their little ones without the overwhelm. Knowing they were getting quality clothing that was clean, sustainable, and ready for another round of adventures. 🌍💛

So if you ever feel like you’re spinning plates, sorting through clothes your kids only wore once, or just trying your best to make good choices in the madness then you’re in good company here. 💕

👇 Tell me, what’s one thing you wish felt a little easier as a parent right now? (I’ll start… laundry. Always laundry. 😅) by @second.snuggle

Someone’s getting ready for the colder weather and Christmas! 🎄🥶

One of the lovely orders that went out today, full of cosy jumpers and Christmas bits!

I love seeing what people choose when they’re putting an order together, especially when there’s a mixture of everyday clothes and something a little more festive.

It’s definitely starting to feel like winter is on its way now, isn’t it? I’ve noticed such a difference in the evenings recently!

And speaking of keeping warm, I’ve changed The Weekly Edit today! 💚

This week’s collection is all about coats and fleeces, with 20% off.

Perfect if you’ve dug out last year’s winter coats only to discover they no longer fit 😂

You can find everything over on the website, www.secondsnuggle.co.uk

Have you started buying Christmas clothes yet, or is it still a bit too early for you? 🎄 by @second.snuggle

Anyone else noticed how cold it’s suddenly getting in the evenings? 🥶

Taking the kids out trick or treating last night was freezing!

Which means it’s probably time to dig out the winter coats, jumpers and all those extra layers. And if your children are anything like mine, there’s a good chance half of last winter’s clothes won’t fit anymore 😂

We’ve got lots of lovely autumn and winter bits on the website at the moment. Coats, fleeces, knitwear, boots, puddlesuits and plenty of everyday layers too.

A mixture of preloved and ex-stock, so you can get them ready for the colder weather without spending a fortune.

I’ve been adding lots more recently too, so it’s worth having another look if you haven’t visited for a while.

Have you dug out the winter coats yet, or are you still putting it off? 😂

I’ve brought something back to Second Snuggle! 👀💚

The Weekly Edit is back!

I used to do these regularly, and I’ve decided it’s time to get them going again.

If you’re new here, The Weekly Edit is a little collection of clothes on the website with 20% off.

It’s a lovely way to pick up some bargains, especially when you’re already shopping second hand to save a bit of money.

I’ll be changing the collection each week, so there’ll always be something different to have a look at.

And as lots of our preloved clothes are one-offs, if you spot something you like in the right size, it’s worth grabbing it!

The first edit is Christmas & party and it’s live now with 20% off 💚

Head to our website and look for The Weekly Edit.

Are you pleased to see this back? And what would you like me to include in future edits? I’d love some ideas! by @second.snuggle

💫 Sometimes I forget quite how much has changed in just over 5 years.

Nearly 2½ years ago we opened our first Second Snuggle shop, which was such a huge step at the time.

Then around 18 months ago, we closed that shop and took over the Toy Expert which we later changed to @thelittleloft.malmesbury

It was another big change, but it meant bringing both businesses under one roof and starting a new chapter for Second Snuggle.

There have been lots of changes, plenty of learning as we’ve gone, and definitely a few moments of wondering what on earth I was doing 😂

But the reason behind Second Snuggle has always stayed the same. Helping families find lovely clothes at sensible prices, giving good clothes another life, and making preloved feel like a really normal way to shop.

Thank you to everyone who has shopped with us, visited, ordered online, shared a post, told a friend or just followed along.

Just over 5 years in, and still going 🤍 by @second.snuggle

🫠🫠 anyone else?!

When your a small business owner and you are juggling all the hats, social media just feel like another one to juggle.

I’ve been very inactive here as I’ve been making the website easy to be found by google, writing blogs & emails, uploading new stock, sorting new stock coming in and getting back to messages.
I haven’t even been into the shop for three weeks 😂

If you love what we do (or you are also a small business) then please reshare this post or send this to a friend so they can come check out what we do.

Thank you ❤️ by @second.snuggle

If you’re new here, hi — I’m Ruby and this is Second Snuggle.

We sell preloved and new kids clothes from 0–16, with a big focus on good quality, sensible prices, and helping families make their money go a bit further.

Kids grow so quickly, and I’ve always felt there’s a better way than paying loads for clothes they wear for five minutes.

That’s what Second Snuggle is all about.

A little throwback to 2024 because I came across these photos and thought… does anyone remember this? 🥹💚

Second Snuggle won Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday #SBS and I remember being genuinely shocked when I found out!

A little while later I headed to Birmingham for the SBS event. It was the first time I’d met Theo, I got to collect my certificate, meet so many other small business owners and listen to Stacey Solomon speak too, which was brilliant.

And seeing my original Second Snuggle post up on that HUGE screen was a very surreal moment 😂

It feels quite strange looking back at these now.

This past year has probably been one of the hardest I’ve had running a preloved clothing business. The way people shop second hand has changed so much, Vinted has become absolutely massive, and as a small independent business it can feel harder and harder to actually get seen.

But I’m still here, still listing clothes, still sending your orders and still trying to keep Second Snuggle going 💚

So today I’m just having a little moment to remember this one. Because running a small business definitely has its highs and lows, and this was a very lovely high.

Did you follow Second Snuggle back when this happened? I’d love to know who remembers it! 🥰 by @second.snuggle

A little update from me 💚

It’s been four months since I was last able to work in the shop. Recovery has taken longer than I hoped, and keeping up with posts during this time has been tricky. It’s hard to know what to say when you don’t leave the house!

I’m starting to feel better now and working on getting stronger with physio, which feels like a step in the right direction.

Even while I’ve been away, there have been so many lovely preloved and ex-stock finds going onto the Second Snuggle website. I’d love more parents to discover them, especially when buying everything new can get so expensive.

If you spot a post that makes you think of a friend, please send it to them. And if you’ve enjoyed shopping with us, a recommendation to another parent would mean the world to me. Those little moments of word of mouth help people find Second Snuggle and keep orders coming in.

I’d love to know what you’d like to see more of here too: new arrivals, bargains, outfits put together, or a bit more behind the scenes?

Thanks so much for being here and supporting what we do.

A little Christmas find for tonight 🎄

I’ve been looking through the Christmas collection again and this is one of those pieces I’d definitely be picking out.

There are so many lovely festive bits online now, and lots of them are one-offs, so it’s worth having a browse if you haven’t yet.

Christmas clothes are such a good thing to buy preloved too. They’re usually worn for such a short time and often have loads of wear left in them.

Are you already buying Christmas outfits, or are you still refusing to think about Christmas yet? 😂 by @second.snuggle

Apparently the dining room wasn’t designed for boxes of children’s clothes and toys… who knew 😂

One minute you start a little business, the next there’s stock in every room, parcels waiting to go, clothes waiting to be photographed and your family has just accepted that this is how we live now 😂

The glamorous reality of running a small business (or two) from home 🤍

Please tell me I’m not the only small business owner whose stock slowly takes over the house? 😂 by @second.snuggle
