Cleaned up to come in the shop… #ElkoSpeedShop #SecondWindKustoms #F100 #buildcoolshit #worththeweight by @second_wind51
One on deck. One on the lift. The ’56 F100 is waiting its turn while the ’69 D100 gets a full once-over and the list starts getting made. This is how it happens around here — finish one thing, find three more, drag another old truck inside and somehow call it progress. 😂 Two very different builds. Same problem: I can’t leave old shit alone. #ElkoSpeedShop #F100 #DodgeD100 #buildcoolshit #SecondWindKustoms by @second_wind51
It’s one seeing a pile of parts. It’s another to watch them start becoming an engine. Fresh bearings, crank going in, clearances checked, caps torqued… and now she rolls over smooth by hand. No noise yet. No exhaust. No first fire. But for the first time, the new heart has a pulse. Second Wind is getting closer. 🖤 Again… #SecondWind #ElkoSpeedShop #LSSwap #buildcoolshit #builtnotbought by @second_wind51
Some things aren’t supposed to stay in the past. The cars. The chrome. The music. The late nights in the garage. The smell of fuel. The stories passed down from one generation to the next. That’s not nostalgia. That’s culture. Keep the old iron alive. Keep building cool shit. Keep it moving. Second Wind. Still Moving. #SecondWind #ElkoSpeedShop #CarCulture #buildcoolshit #SecondWindKustoms by @second_wind51
Behind every version of me that made it through, there was her. My wife. My rock. My constant. She has believed in me when I gave her plenty of reasons not to. She has given me grace, patience, second chances, and a kind of loyalty I’ll never be able to fully repay. She has seen me at my best, my worst, and everywhere in between. She knew the man I could become long before I consistently showed up as him. A lot of people see the things I’ve built, the changes I’ve made, the life I have now. What they don’t always see is the woman who stood beside me while I was trying to build myself back too. She has carried more than she ever should have had to. She has forgiven more than I deserved. She has loved me through chapters that could have easily made her close the book. And somehow, she’s still here. Still believing. Still pushing me. Still calling me on my bullshit. Still reminding me what actually matters. There is no version of the man I am today without her fingerprints all over it. I can build cars, businesses, a body, a life… But she helped me rebuild me. You are my home, my best friend, my biggest supporter, and one of the greatest gifts this life has ever given me. I love you more than I probably say, and I appreciate you more than I could ever fit into one post. If I’ve ever been given a true second wind in this life… it was you. ❤️ @mgbrummet by @second_wind51
Not restored, rebuilt into something more… Second Wind. Old bones. New purpose. More meaning. And an interior that feels like it belongs in the car and what I pictured from the beginning. Built in a damn garage, why? Because I wanted to prove to myself I could. No fancy equipment, no special shit. Don’t be afraid to start that project or bite off more than you can chew. It’s the only way you learn. You don’t need to be a pro to begin… #SecondWind #builtnotbought #buildcoolshit #ElkoSpeedShop #LSSwap by @second_wind51
2 new projects coming soon… 56 F-100 sitting on a 99 Crown Vic chassis and drivetrain and a 69 Dodge D100 4x4 to be shown later 🤙🏽 Pretty much everything has arrived for the F100 so we will get the body work and paint started next week and start rollin’. This one will be fun and the finished product will be killer. #builtnotbought #buildcoolshit #ElkoSpeedShop #f100 #worththeweight @summitracing @lmctruck @holleyperformance @speedwaymotorsinc @cjponyparts @american.autowire @dakota_digital @tmiproducts @lokarinc @eastwoodco @evil_energy_autoparts @vintageair_ by @second_wind51
For a car with no engine, she sure knows how to sit. Skirts on. Visor on. Stance right. Next is the life that creates all the fun. What started it all… the LS. Speed, gasoline and rubber left on the road. Cars. Craft. Culture. Oh, and the next one won’t be built in the garage…🤙🏽 Upgraded working conditions incoming. Some parts bolt on. Some parts have to become part of the car. Really digging how this intake cover came out, aged it to match the rest of Second Wind, and gave it just enough attitude to look like it’s been there for decades. Might still sneak a little Second Wind logo onto it somewhere… Old iron. New purpose. Second Wind. Still Moving. @specialopsmotorsports #SecondWind #builtnotbought #buildcoolshit #ElkoSpeedShop #LSSwap by @second_wind51
Waiting on the machine shop… Same old soul. New heart. Second Wind is coming back with 372ci of 11:1 compression, 823 heads, a BTR Truck Plus cam, 3000–3200 stall and Terminator X MAX calling the shots. Not trying to turn it into something it isn’t. Just giving an old Ford a little more attitude than it had in 1951. SECOND WIND. STILL MOVING. #SecondWind #StillMoving #builtnotbought #buildcoolshit #lsswap @summitracing @holleyperformance @richardholdenerperformance @briantooleyracing by @second_wind51
Visor back on… and there it is. 😮‍💨 That old-school silhouette was missing something without it. Little by little, she’s coming back to life. The best is yet to come. Second Wind. Still Moving. #SecondWind #builtnotbought #buildcoolshit #ElkoSpeedShop #lsswap by @second_wind51
Skirts back on. Sitting low where she belongs. That profile changed instantly. Long, low, and just enough attitude. Every little piece keeps pulling the whole car together. Second Wind. Still Moving. #SecondWind #builtnotbought #buildcoolshit #ElkoSpeedShop #lowandnotslow by @second_wind51
