Long time no post, but today was a big day… last day of work at PG (Movement). It has been a wild ride these last 14 years… now to see what the future holds✨ by @seelink
This morning i got out for a run. #IRunWithMaud. On February 23rd Ahmaud Arbery went out for a run and never made it home. He was hunted down and murdered by 3 white supremacists in Georgia. Today would have been his 26th bday. Yesterday, only after intense public pressure, were 2 of the 3 murderers arrested. One is a former police officer. They sat around free for a whole 2+ months while the racist DA did NOTHING. To see these murderers arrested yesterday so calmly and safely while videos and images of officers violently arresting (assaulting) unarmed black children and adults wall-paper the internet makes my blood boil... and yet it is not surprising. This is America. Its roots are steeped in white-supremacy and patriarchy. Rotten to the core. The systems of oppression are working as intended and it’s on us to tear them down. This is just one man who should still be alive today. There are countless others, including #seanreed, murdered by police this week in indianapolis who then cracked jokes over his dying body. Too many loved ones reduced to hashtags. Murdered for existing while black. Another grave injustice among so very many currently happening in our country 💔 I feel helpless and so very angry at all our f*cked up systems. And so i look for ways i can take action: -Justice only has a chance when we keep shedding light and keep up the pressure. The racist DA George Barnhill must resign. These murderers must be prosecuted and serve the rest of their lives in prison. Keep reading, signing petitions, calling... there is much to be outraged about. Vote. Local policies, even in the “liberal” bay area, need a full revamp. This is not just a red state problem. SF peeps - support @chesaboudin and vote @shahidforchange AND make sure you follow @representus - maintaining voting access is critical! -Follow and support the folks working so hard to bring justice for Ahmaud and his family. For all the families seeking justice. Grateful for the work of @leemerrittesq @chrisstewart_esq_ @attorneycrump (and others i am forgetting!) working round the clock for justice.
