Back from a long break to introduce you to a personal favorite in my collection, Hirudinaria manillensis or more commonly "The Asian buffalo leech". These amazing creatures are a semi terrestrial predatory leech native to Southeast asia where they live in large bodies of freshwater feeding primarily off of water buffalos, earning them their common name. Like all parasitic leeches, this species requires fresh blood to feed from, in captivity this is typically done either through self feeding from the keeper, or by making a blood bag using butchers blood. A lesser known trait about leeches is that they lay cocoons to breed, and these cocoons are very interesting as theyre completely covered in a protective foam that slowly hardens into a spongey texture. Growing up to 12 inches long, these are truly a beast of an animal. Despite their immense size and imposing reputation, these leeches are actually quite docile and confident, choosing to spend hours laying on the shore sleeping out in the open, and not shying away from touch. These traits have made them an increasingly popular animal in the pet trade over the years, and their ease of breeding as well as low maintence care has allowed for the captive breeding of this species for generations. [Continental US only] I have captive bred H. manillensis cocoons in incubation that will be available as they hatch, dm me for pricing or trade offers if you would like to add your name to the wait list (all payments are accepted only when your leeches are ready for shipping)

Centruroides gracilis, aka the florida bark scorpion🦂
These beauties are an absolutely stunning bark scorpion from the Buthidae family. Despite its common name, this species is not native to Florida, they orginate from primarily Northern middle America in countries such as Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, and Honduras but they have made their way to the Southern USA as well as other countries with tropical climates. The specimens pictured are full grown, this species typically maxes out at about 10-15cm in length counting the length of the tail, despite that these are actually one of the larger Centruroides species. They are not medically significant, but their sting is known to cause burning, soreness, swelling, and itching for a few hours, followed by lingering soreness at the sting site, though they can be potentially dangerous to young children, elderly, or those allergic to bees. Caution should be used when handling but handling should relatively be avoided as they are rather defensive. They thrive in more humid conditions, are semi arboreal, and highly capable of communal setups such as what I have here with currently 4 individuals (3 males and 1 female)
I will be offering a small handful of juveniles of this species in the coming months, though the majority will be kept.

Back at it again with the Black Velvet Leatherleaf slug (Belocaulus angustipes)! This is an absolutely beautiful leatherleaf species in my opinion, they have a very dark pitch black color, with highly textured skin that in person, gives the appearance of glittery velvet. These are a tropical slug native to South America but have made their way to North America and become established primarily in the south east in states such as Florida and Georgia. They eat primarily plant matter, both live and decayed, but unlike other leatherleaf slugs i have observed them having a very strong preference towards protein even when provided with high value produce. I have had these breeding consistently for a while and am currently offering these for sale [Continental US only]. You can dm me or email me at segmented.secrets@gmail.com

Everyone say hello to Dracula, Aleera, Verona, and Marishka the Medicinal leeches (Hirudo verbana)! These are actually not true medicinal leeches, aka H. medicinallis, but most medicinal leeches commonly sold on the market are actually verbana as medicinallis are quite rare. Leeches are part of the Annelida(segmented worms) family, and are a semi terrestrial creature, requiring both land and water. In the wild they enjoy living in cool shallow pools and lakes, and will latch onto any nearby warm blooded creature, feeding for typically around an hour or so before dropping off. In captivity they can be fed either off of yourself, or by making a blood bag using fresh blood from a local butcher heated till warm and then tied up in either a sausage casing or unlubricated condom. These leeches are extremely young, but at full adult size they can get almost 8 inches long and live for up to 20 years. I will be offering these for sale in the future, but because they take at least 2 years to sexually mature i will not have them available for quite a while.

Got a strange one for yall today, the New Guinea Flatworm (Platydemus manokwari).
Theyre a species of pedatory land worm native to New Guinea but have become highly invasive worldwide, including the US. They feed primarily on snails, slugs, and earthworms making them a threat to local native gastropod populations in the areas they are introduced. A cool fact about these worms, is theyre actually one of the only kinds of worms that can actually be split in 2 to make 2 seperate worms. Theres been a widespread myth that all worms are capable of this, but in reality that ability is unique to flatworms specifically. I will not be selling these at any point in time do to their highly invasive nature, hyper specific food source, and ease of finding worldwide.

Is that a leopard? No, its a slug! Limax Maximus,
aka Leopard slugs or "Great Grey slugs" are an absolutely beautiful specimen to behold. Capable of growing up to a whopping 8 inches, theyre one of the largest species of Limacidae "keeled slugs"
This species, while native to Africa and Europe has made it way to many parts of the world, including all across the US. They are considered invasive and due to their highly predatory nature they pose a threat to native slugs and snails in the areas they've been introduced. Despite their high protein needs and predatory nature these are capable of being kept in small colonies as long as ample space and resources are provided.

A spooky looking one today, Asiomorpha Coarctata👽 (long flange millipede)
These millipedes are extremely common and invasive across the world, going as far as hawaii. The exact native region of this species is still unknown but is presumed to be from south east Asia. They are a tropical millipede, very similar to greenhouse millis (oxidus gracilus) in both appearance and care. You can distinguish the two apart based on color, with O. gracilus lacking the vibrant yellow colors of A. coarctata, as well as the fact that the latter also has noticeably longer and sharper lateral keels (the sharp spines on their sides) as well as the males having longer gonopods (reproductive organ). These are a fantastic addition to a bioactive enclosure as a cleanup crew, or as a pet on their own as theyre very surface active and fun to look at due to their vibrant coloring.

Behold, the American Giant (narceus americanus) !
Received these beautiful babies today as half of a trade. So excited to be able to add these to the swarm thanks to @verdant.star and I had a wonderful experience trading with them :)

These are a beautiful millipede species, the largest in the US they are native to the east of North America. They are a frequently arboreal species, found climbing trees much more often than other millipedes, and can come in different color morphs from all black, to a blackish brown, to their classic dark grey with orange stripes. They are related to the other Narceus species, N. gordanus (Smokey oak) and while they reach a similar size, the american giants tend to be slightly longer and thinner, where as the smokey oaks are somewhat shorter and significantly fatter making the title for "Largest North American Milli" a hard pick between the 2.

An absolutely gorgeous millipede today, the Candy Apple millipede (aka. Mozambique fire millie / Centrobolus Splendidus)
This millipede originates from Mozambique Africa but has made its way to the US via the pet trade. Its sought after due to its amazing bright red color, ease of handling, and high reproduction rate. Unlike the Scarlet millipedes these are significantly more vibrant in color, resembling pomegranate or "Candy apples", as well as slightly larger in size, reaching up to 3-4 inches on average versus the scarlets 2-3inch average. Candy apples are unique compared to other millipedes due to their special mating ritual, where the males will pick up and body slam the females as hard as possible, with the females choosing whichever male throws them the hardest. Because of this, I strongly discourage cohabitating these with other species as the stress of possible attempted cross mating could lead to death from other more fragile species. I will be offering these by this time 2026 in a limited supply
