Proud to have crossed paths with three of this year’s Ebony Power 100 inductees! ✨

From college days (and plenty of step shows 😄) with @artisstevens, to a brief but memorable call with @lisanebasquiat, to the serendipity of sitting beside @tonyatalks at a @kennedyryan1 book tour…each encounter has stayed with me in its own way.

Congratulations to these three, and to everyone recognized on this year’s list! 👏🏾✨ So much brilliance, leadership and excellence represented.

Now let me get my weight up so I can make that list one day! 😂✨ by @selah.brate

I’m obsessed with flowers, but even more so with those who bring breathtaking designs to life! Lori McNorton is one such creative meets business maven. Thanks @florists_review for having me and @beth.blaney for bringing those ol’ days back! ✨ by @selah.brate

Thank you, God for keeping my brother and dad (both airline pilots at the time) safe during the horrific events of September 11, 2001. These moments remind me that blessings are both what you get and the tragedies you escape. ❤️Remembering First Officer Leroy Homer Jr and all those who lost their lives on this day 25 years ago.💔 by @selah.brate

My grandfather (who died when I was 6) was an amateur boxer in Philly before enlisting in the Army. I remember he was funny and loved raisin toast. Those who served this country had full lives, families, hobbies and dreams. But like many Black servicemen, however, my grandfather returned to a country where his rights as a Veteran were limited. The GI Bill that helped so many veterans gain access to home loans was unavailable to him due to redlining. Today I remember my grandfather who fought both abroad and in his own country. He’d be proud if he could see his family now. (Pictured : Grandpa’s boxing shoes. Circa 1940) by @selah.brate
