This book exceeded my expectations and I am so he I got to read an early version of it! Thank you @netgalley @kylajzhao @penguinrandomhouse !
If you are looking for a read that will lush fully transport you to 1940 San Francisco China town where two high school students take on the biggest heist of their life this is the book.
The drama, the family history and forbidden love are all written so well in this novel. It kept me entertained and wanting to see how their rivalry would end.
If you lived Red City then you’re going to love this book as well.

October has been such an incredible reading month. One of these books in particular gave me a new perspective on how we are the creators of our life and change can happen.
This month I finally left my house, made a new friend, and text friends I hadn’t reached out to in so long.
They say autumn is the season of change and I’m finally starting to feel the change.

A hilarious single mom romance, a grumpy recluse and a whole lotta awkward. 🫣😅👏
I loved this one so much having fallen in love with Hard Feelings I am just so incredibly impressed by Jen’s writing! She makes it so easy to get sucked into the stories and laugh your ass off but also giving you that emotional connection that really brings the characters together. The way she describes the scenery is so beautiful.
My thoughts 💭
Our fmc is feisty, says what’s on her mind yet has a way of being nurturing at the same time which I appreciate for our mmc who has been closed off from human interaction for so long.
She’s trying her absolute best trying to be a good parent for her 14 year old son while secretly wishing she had someone by her side giving her input and assure her she’s parenting well.
Our mmc is a guarded weary recluse that has secretly escaped to his Ex step brother cabin to heal and ends up getting a little bit of his own heart revival.
What I truly enjoyed most was the family dynamic the females in this series. Expect a gorgeous setting, awkward moments and an engaging story that will have you laughing so hard.
Once again thank you so much @jenmillwrites and @valentine_pr_ For the gifted ALC of this one!

Wow! Never thought I’d like a GRUMPY old man! 😝
This is the definition of down bad! These two characters were such a blast to read and watch how they both fumble with their love for each other.
We get fake dating, single dad, grumpy sunshine but none of this is in your typical fashion.

Have you read or listened to Face off With Fate?
Thank you to @mustloveaudio and @authormariemaravilla for the ALC and the opportunity to listen to more from their journey.

This was one of the Best Vampire books I’ve read in a long time! It had prophecies, betrayals, brooding men, and a kick ass plot. Thank you so much to @mustloveaudio and @tessahalewrites for the ALC of Crown of Crimson & Crows 🐦‍⬛.
Easily one of my top 6 of 2026. by @selmas_onlybooks

This books was sooo soo phenomenal especially the audio version it had the creepy slashing sounds and cool sound effects that made it so much more like a slasher film. (But not in an overwhelming amount-not like the graphic audiobooks)
This is one of those books that will have you thinking g you know who the killer is but nope.. 🙂‍↔️ ohh such a fun read for summer/ and for spooky season. @shaileewrites I can’t wait for Laurie’s book next!!!! by @selmas_onlybooks

$I’m so enthralled by this book! I can’t get over how detailed it is. I can’t wait to dive into this story. The blurb sounds sooo good. ✨ Will you be reading this? ✨ Welcome to Lee Young-do’s epic classic series, The Bird That Drinks Tears. The master of Korean fantasy—often cited as the J.R.R. Tolkien of South Korea-Lee Young-do has created a tale of castles built on the backs of flying mantas, giant birdmen, heartless immortals, and a quest that will change the very nature of the world and its gods, available for the first time in English by award-winning translator Anton Hur. Three handles one. The world is divided by the Line of Limit. To the north are the Tokkebi-fire people able to manipulate flames as both weapons and illusions; Rekon-giant birdmen with immense strength and warrior acumen; and the humans-as divided as the other races are unified. To the south are the Nhaga—a reptilian people who relinquish their hearts for immortality. For centuries, the races didn’t cross that line, but change is in the air. A Nhaga is being sent North... and a trio is being dispatched to make sure this agent from the South makes it out alive-one from each race. But the illusion of a simple journey is quickly dispelled by the fact that the Tokkebi is merely a scholar, not an adventurer; the Rekon is deathly afraid of water; and the human hunts and eats Nhaga. And when the Nhaga they’re supposed to be escorting out of the Kiboren forest is murdered, the one sent in his place turns out to very much have a heart—meaning he’s quite vulnerable to the dangerous exodus. The four must quickly forge an alliance and shed the distrust and prejudice that plagues them if they are to survive. And just as crucial, they must figure out what this mission is actually about, because unbeknownst to them, the very fate of the world might rest on this one Nhaga making it to the North intact. classic not to be missed, The Heart of the Nhaga is epic fantasy at its best, translated into English for the first time ever by award-winning translator Anton Hur. #diversereading #fantasybooks { special edition, fantasy books, read this now, diversity, read different genres, by @selmas_onlybooks$
