🏢 BUYING OR SELLING A BUSINESS? LOOK BEYOND THE PURCHASE PRICE When buying or selling a business, there are often significant financial and tax considerations that can impact the outcome. The way a deal is structured, and how value is allocated across assets, can create both risks and opportunities. Key areas to consider include: 🔹 Inventory & stock 🔹 Plant & equipment 🔹 Fixed assets 🔹 Business structure 🔹 Tax implications Understanding these areas before completing a transaction can help you make better decisions and maximise the long-term outcome. At SerRico Group, we help business owners and investors understand the numbers, identify opportunities and structure their financial decisions for success. 👉 https://calendly.com/daniel-serrico/serrico-group-intro-meeting by @serricogroup
🦘 BUSINESS ADVICE DOESN’T ALWAYS HAPPEN IN AN OFFICE A great part of what we do at SerRico Group is travelling to meet with our clients — understanding their businesses, their investments and their goals in their own environment. This week, while visiting clients, we were lucky enough to experience something truly unique… watching kangaroos fighting at Cape Hillsborough. It’s moments like this that remind us why we love working closely with business owners and investors. Great advice comes from understanding the person behind the numbers — their lifestyle, their challenges, their opportunities and their vision for the future. At SerRico Group, we don’t just look at financial statements… we build relationships and help clients make better financial decisions. 🏢 BUYING OR SELLING A BUSINESS? LOOK BEYOND THE PURCHASE PRICE At SerRico Group, we regularly help clients navigate the financial and tax implications of buying and selling businesses. Too often, people focus only on the headline purchase price — but the way the purchase price is allocated can have a significant impact on the future financial outcome. Key areas to consider include: 🔹 Inventory – the value allocated to stock can impact the buyer’s future deductions and cash flow. 🔹 Plant & equipment – allocating value to depreciable assets may create future tax deduction opportunities for the buyer. 🔹 Fixed assets & other business assets – understanding the tax treatment before the transaction can help avoid unexpected consequences. 🔹 Capital gains tax & other tax considerations – sellers and buyers need to understand how the structure of the deal affects their position. A successful business acquisition is not just about buying revenue — it’s about understanding the assets, liabilities, cash flow and future opportunities. The right advice before a transaction can help you make better decisions, structure the deal correctly and maximise the long-term outcome. At SerRico Group, we help business owners and investors understand the numbers, identify opportunities and make informed financial decisions. 🚀 WE HELP OUR CLIENTS BECOME WEALTH CREATORS Most people want more money. But the biggest difference between those who build wealth and those who don’t is often not income — it’s the decisions they make with their money. At SerRico Group, we help our clients create the habits, strategies and financial foundations required to build long-term wealth. We help clients: 💰 Increase profitability 📈 Build quality assets 🏡 Use leverage strategically 📊 Understand their financial numbers 🎯 Create clear financial goals 🔑 Make confident decisions for their future Building wealth is a journey. It requires discipline, accountability and a plan. Our role is to work alongside business owners, investors and families to help them turn today’s decisions into tomorrow’s financial freedom. Because the goal isn’t just to make more money… The goal is to create a life where money gives you more choices. 💰 A TAX DEDUCTION DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN YOU’RE BETTER OFF Too often, business owners focus on one thing: “How can I reduce my tax?” And sometimes, chasing tax deductions can actually cost you more. I’ve seen businesses spend thousands on unnecessary purchases just to receive a tax deduction — only to end up with less cash, lower profits, and in some cases, a business loss. The reality is simple: Spending $100 to save $25 in tax doesn’t make financial sense. Tax planning is important, but it should be part of a bigger financial strategy — not the only goal. At SerRico Group, we help clients focus on the numbers that truly matter: ✅ Increasing profitability ✅ Improving cash flow ✅ Building quality assets ✅ Creating better financial habits ✅ Making strategic decisions for long-term wealth The goal isn’t just to pay less tax. The goal is to build a stronger financial future. If you want a financial partner who looks beyond the tax return and helps you make better decisions: 👉 https://calendly.com/daniel-serrico/serrico-group-intro-meeting by @serricogroup
💰 WEALTH IS BUILT ON STRONG FINANCIAL FOUNDATIONS At SerRico Group, we help our clients focus on creating a strong financial future — not just reducing today’s tax bill. One of the most powerful ways to build wealth is through leverage. Using borrowed money to acquire quality assets can help you accelerate wealth creation by investing in assets that have the potential to: ✅ Generate ongoing cash flow ✅ Increase in value over time ✅ Build long-term financial security However, leverage only works when you have the financial foundations to support it. Banks and financiers often look for a proven history of financial success — strong income, profitable businesses and the ability to manage finances effectively. Yes, building a profitable business may mean paying more tax today. But paying tax because you are making more money is a far better position than reducing profits just to minimise tax. The goal is not to avoid tax at all costs. The goal is to create a financial future where the wealth you build from your assets far exceeds the tax you paid along the way. At SerRico Group, we help business owners and investors understand the numbers, improve profitability, structure their finances and create strategies focused on long-term financial freedom. If you want a financial partner who understands your business and your future goals, let’s talk. 👉 https://calendly.com/daniel-serrico/serrico-group-intro-meeting by @serricogroup
Here’s a polished SerRico Group version focused on the strategic decision-making behind work-related expenses: 💰 WHICH ENTITY SHOULD PAY FOR YOUR WORK-RELATED EXPENSES? It’s not always as simple as putting a work-related expense through your business. Should you pay personally? Should your operating entity pay? Or should another entity be involved? At SerRico Group, we look at the bigger picture before deciding. We consider factors including: 🔹 GST treatment 🔹 Income tax deductions 🔹 Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) 🔹 Cash flow 🔹 Asset ownership 🔹 Business structure 🔹 Record keeping & compliance 🔹 The overall tax and financial outcome The entity that can claim an expense isn’t necessarily the entity that should pay for it. Good accounting isn’t just about recording what happened — it’s about structuring your finances proactively so you can make better decisions. At SerRico Group, we help business owners and investors understand where their money should be paid, held and invested. If you want a financial partner who looks beyond the numbers, let’s talk. 👉 https://calendly.com/daniel-serrico/serrico-group-intro-meeting by @serricogroup

🚗 WHAT IF YOU NEVER HAD TO BUY A USED CAR AGAIN? Imagine driving a brand-new car without paying anywhere near what you thought you’d have to. Too many people automatically think buying second-hand is the only way to save money. But what if you could use finance + salary packaging + available tax benefits to make a brand-new EV significantly more affordable? At SerRico Group, we’re helping our clients look at the numbers differently. 💥 Brand-new car 💥 Potentially under $10,000 after tax 💥 Available for you, your partner or your children 💥 No previous owner 💥 No unknown mechanical history 💥 No second-hand-car headaches Instead of spending years buying used cars, repairing them and replacing them… Why not explore whether you can make a brand-new car work for you? We can help with the finance, salary packaging, vehicle purchase and strategy to maximise the potential tax benefits available to you. 👉 Your next car doesn’t have to be second-hand. 📲 Want to see what this could look like for you? https://calendly.com/daniel-serrico/serrico-group-intro-meeting Individual circumstances, eligibility, employer arrangements and tax outcomes vary.
