Ciclos 🎬 out now on YouTube (link in bio) It was such a pleasure to be a part of this short film. @ashleighjadeeee you’re a genius. Your resilliance in pushing to have this film made inspires me. You did that. We made it happen. Thank you for trusting me to bring Lauren’s story to life. @samueladewunmi_ I learnt so so much from working with you. You made it so easy to live in this world and you made me a better actor. Thank you for going all in, for bringing out the best and worst in our characters. Pebble, it was SO wonderful to play the older version of you 🥹 thank you for letting me study your version of Lauren when we were filming. No matter what you go on to do, I know you’ll be amazing. Here’s a closer look at the portrait of my cousin which’ll be on display at the @nationalportraitgallery this year for the Winston Taylor Portrait Prize ✨ (previously Taylor Wessing) The original handprint, projected on light sensitive paper straight from the negative, will be up from the 5th November 2026 - 17th Jan 2027 This’ll be the first chance to see my work exhibited publicly and the first time my work is in print like this. I printed it quite large btw, so you should really come see it in person 🥹 The portrait is from my personal collection, ‘Mi Racine An Mwen’ (‘My Roots’ in Creole) where I photographed and interviewed 4 generations of my family to connect with my heritage as a 2nd gen immigrant born and raised in South London. I hope to exhibit all the images and the film in full someday. To support a show of the full collection, email me shotbyseverine@gmail.com Image shot on Kodak Gold 200 Mamiya RZ67 Dev scanned and handprinted at @bayeux_ltd by @severine_hm
Madness 😭 This portrait of my cousin, shot on our Grandmother's lawn in Guadeloupe, will be exhibited at the @nationalportraitgallery this year for the Winston Taylor Portrait Prize (previously Taylor Wessing) Those overweight bag fees from heavy film cameras were worth it in the end🥹 It'll be up from the 5th November 2026 - 17th Jan 2027. I'll sometimes be around so if you see me there, come say hello! The portrait is from my personal collection, 'Mi Racine An Mwen' ('My Roots' in Creole and there’s a typo in the captions!!) where I photographed and interviewed 4 generations of my family to connect with my heritage as a 2nd gen immigrant born and raised in South London. I hope to exhibit it in full someday. To support a show of the full collection, email me shotbyseverine@gmail.com Thank you so so much NPG and thanks to Gage at @bayeux_ltd for encouraging me to apply to begin with And thank you to my wonderful cousin for being so patient with me shooting this on film 🫂 one of my favourite people in the whole world and I'm so proud of you!! Hope this reminds artists that you can do whatever the heck you want. No you are not too much and you should keep showing up loudly and proudly. It's Leo season be boldddd!!
