✨The Lady and her Abari Barrel Pants.
Sun dress season may be over but you can still catch me in a Lady Day.

🪡 I’m late but inspired by @cagreinvented , I sewed the Lady Day bodice only, interfaced and added boning. Mine needs a few more adjustments to fit perfectly right but I’m happy with our first dance. She will be made again.

🤩 Thank you Dee for allowing me to test your Abari Barrel Pants. It was a wonderful sew and I cut a size 14 and used an embossed bottom weight khaki twill with a slight stretch from @virginiasdaughtersews CuratedFabrics.shop.

I especially loved the details in the Abari Barrel pants, deep pockets and fit. 💯recommend to add this pattern to your stash and Fall sewing plans!

Don’t forget to get your Ruby Circle Bag and submit your #SewBlack September make! This is my second make 😍 by @sewyourview

I still can’t believe how perfect this dress turned out!! When I first saw #theladydaydress I knew I wanted to make it but I must admit I was super nervous. When I saw it was the August project for @sewyourview I had the courage to give it a try! To be honest @marcyharriell has very clear and detailed directions for this dress. It’s a slow sew but so enjoyable and I learned some new sewing techniques. I plan to make it again with different straps and I want to make it a jumpsuit. Thank you @sewyourview @marcyharriell and @thatssewmonica for the August pattern #theladydaydress

🧵I may be late but I finished the dress on Saturday and wore it Sunday night. I was so comfortable all night and extremely happy that I pushed through and joined in on sewing this pattern.

✂️ I has a small mishap with the bodice but somehow I made it work. I also added an invisible zipper, a back slit and pockets. My seams lined up perfectly for what may be the first time ever 😂

💃🏽I danced, ate, and was able to sit and move comfortably.

🧵I dipped into my Ankara stash and found the perfect fabric for the occasion. This dress did not disappoint.

🙏🏽 Praying that I am out of my sewing slump. Hope to join in on more #sewyourview looks and get back to my @theprojectsew Saturday’s soon.

Peace and Blessings ❤️

From pattern prep to the finished fit. ✂️🔥

The Sassy Sweatsuit pattern by @patternsby.dee is officially complete—and the color blocking did exactly what I wanted it to do.

I combined bold stripes with solid white, carrying the design across both the top and pants. It’s comfortable, coordinated and full of personality from every angle.

This is the finished look I pictured when I started preparing the pattern.

Which side is your favorite—the stripes or the solid white?

Here is my #ladydaydress which was my big sewing project for August.

📍The pattern is from from Handmade Harriells that is @marcyharriell and her husband new pattern company.

📍I fell in love with it when it was released in May, but I was motivated to sew it when @sewyourview chose it as the August Pattern of the month, with @miraclestitchess as the host. I’m a bit late since it’s already September 6th, but better late than never, right?

📍 I made it in beautiful ankara fabric from the collection Première Essence, designed by Sistywax.

📍 The instructions was very clear, with large, colourful illustrations. And to make them even more practical to use, I had my copy spiral bound by the printer.

📍 Before this final version, I made a toile, in size 16/18. This toile was really useful and here are my main modifications :
   - I widened the straps to 3,5 cm and crossed them at the back.
- To add more coverage to the neckline, I added 1,5 cm to the bottom of the center front bodice.
   - I cut the front skirt on the fold to avoid having to match the print.
   - I lowered the apex on the front bodice thanks to Krys from @Unsewcial’s video tutorial.

✂️ In the end, I’m really happy with this dress and with my modifications even though if I wish I had replaced the skirt with a 3/4 circle one.

✂️ With the combination of the low neckline, the bare shoulders and forearms, this dress is definitely outside my comfort zone compared to the type of dresses I usually wear. But the different heatwaves we have had this summer convinced me that I needed this kind of dress in my wardrobe.

✂️ I absolutely loved following all the differents stories and posts showing everyone’s progress with this pattern. You can also see all the different versions and hacks, especially on the @sewyourview account.

✂️ And finally, I would like to thanks @marcyharriells for this pattern and @miraclesstiches for hosting this month’s Sew Your View 😊
