Disclaimer: y’all did sell me out of kale this week! I harvested roughly 22 lb for my chefs & bakers in about a week and a half 🫢 so sadly, there’s no kale tomorrow-but it’ll be back next weekend!! 🥬

It’s time for my weekly just-before-midnight market post!! (Iykyk I guess 😂)

Okay folks, the bouquets are BURSTING with phenomenal blooms this week! Lots of my favs including sunflowers, bells of Ireland, snaps, foxgloves, zinnias, hydrangea, larkspur, & china asters to name a few! Come scoop up a bouquet to brighten up your own space or as a gift. July is bringing some incredible color to my own garden and I just love to share it 🌻🌸💐

I also have lots o’ large candy onions, garlic bulbs & braids, leafy greens, herbs, & a taste of the first tomatoes!! 🍅🥬🧅🧄

Happy Friday everyone! There has been a whole lot harvested at the farm over the past 7 days!! 🧄💐😮‍💨

I had some crucial help from @chefvinniecimino , Roman, & @dunksmandolins to harvest the entire garlic crop on Sunday! I’m so so grateful for all of their help! Also so so grateful for Mat’s incredible photography skills. He has been getting back into photography lately and I feel too lucky to be his muse (along with the mandolins, of course.)

I also had some special visitors the other night! @sistermaryfranny , Cami, & @areyousorrymrjackson got a little farm tour and helped harvest zucchini ☺️

Tomorrow I have an exciting line up for market! You’ll find:
The first of the giant candy onions 🧄💪
Garlic bulbs & braids 🧄
Kale, collards, & chard 🥬
Carrots 🥕
Fresh herbs including basil, lavender, thyme & sage 🌱
The first sungold cherry tomato pints (super limited quantity!!) 🍅
A great variety of colorful flower bouquets 💐

Feeling grateful to have made it through this week’s heat wave. The plants & I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the rain we got tonight (swipe for a brain-melted smiley selfie in the rain) 🌧️🙌

Catch me at the Hudson Farmers Market this Saturday morning from 9am-12:30pm. I have lots of unique bouquets this week, bursting with some of my most favorite flowers (larkspur, snapdragons, zinnias, bells of Ireland, yarrow-I could go on!) I know I’ve been posting a lot of flowers lately but honestly, I feel so excited and proud of how they’re doing. I can’t help it! 💐

I also have some solid produce offerings for market including some of the first softneck garlic, turnips, carrots, kale, rainbow chard, collards, & herbs! Planning to dig the remainder of the garlic on Sunday with a little help from my friends 🧄

Hello & happy Friday my friends! 🌞

Tomorrow I am back to my regularly scheduled market programming at the Hudson Farmers Market! 🙌

In fact, this will be a busy few days for me here at the farm-as this coming Monday 6/29 marks the beginning of session 1 of my CSA, AND Monday night I will be vending at the Merriman Valley Pizza Market from 4-9 pm! I’ll be living my best life harvesting & arranging all weekend 🥬💐

I have a sweet variety of offerings for tomorrow’s market, including:

Kale, rainbow Swiss chard, collards, turnips, a very limited supply of carrots (!!!), fresh herbs, the last of the snap peas, bok choy, and a great variety of hand tied bouquets! 🌼

Come by my table at the Hudson Farmers Market tomorrow from 9am-12:30pm, or maybe I’ll see you at the Merriman Valley Pizza Market on Monday. Lots of chances to get your fresh veggie fix! 🫜

It’s here!! The 2026 Summer Thru Autumn CSA signup is now OPEN! 🙌

Offering the CSA shares the past two years has been such a sweet experience, and I am thrilled to announce that this year I have added two additional weeks to the first session, so there are now 2️⃣ eight-week sessions in this season!

🥬 Session 1 runs from 6/29-8/17
🍅 Session 2 runs from 8/31-10/19
(Note that in the Full Season Share there is a break week between Sessions 1 & 2, with no shares on 8/24)

There are 3️⃣ pricing tiers, and you can choose to do just one of the eight week session, or both! **NEW for 2026: you purchase both sessions 1 & 2 together (Full Season Share), you’ll receive a discount of $10 from the total price! 🥕

My website has a page dedicated to the CSA program, including all the fine details and links to purchase & secure your spot for shares this season! 🫜

Hello and happy Thursday my friends!

I know I’ve been a little MIA lately-consumed with planting, setting up irrigation, working at the flower shop, and getting my ducks in a row as we approach farmers market season! 🦆

I am so excited to announce that this year The Kale Next Door will be vending at 2 new (for me!) farmers markets! You can find me every Saturday of the season (June thru mid-Oct) at the Hudson Farmers Market @hfmnow . I have personally been at this market the past two years while working with @thaxtonfamilyfarm , and am thrilled to be representing my home farm there this year. Every Saturday morning on the Hudson green downtown, 9am-12:30 pm - can’t wait to see you there! 🍅

The other market that I will be at once per month June-Oct is the *NEW* farmers market at Merriman Valley Pizza!! I am so excited& grateful to be a part of this new offering from @merrimanvalleypizza , right here I n Akron! They are hosting these markets every Monday evening throughout the season, so be sure to stop out to check out & support the sweet local vendors (and grab a slice)! 🍕

Now that everything has been planted it’s just a matter of time before everything really gets rockin! I am so looking forward to the produce & flowers I have planned to share with y’all this year 🫶

Hello friends! Doing a little early May check in on the farm. 🌦️

It has been a busy spring so far-getting Cole crops & alliums established in the ground, root crops direct sown, potting up warm weather crops as they prepare to be transplanted. Ive been snacking on asparagus as they are ready in the field & harvesting an early crop of bok choy as well (the crop that survived 2 26 degree nights btw!!). I’ve so been enjoying the early spring blooms as they energetically welcome the warmer weather in 🌷🪻

My warmer weather seedlings are under a temporary low tunnel against the front bed so they are easy to cover on cold nights. Needless to say, I’m eager to plant them out in the field next week!! So excited for things to really get rolling. HUGE thank you to my partner, Mat, for watering and caring for my place last week while I was on a work trip to PA 🌱

Stay tuned for details on this year’s CSA offerings and my farmers market schedule! I’ll be dropping info for both of these next week, after Mother’s Day week at @leaf_homeandblooms ! Until then, find me in the Akron shop arranging with some gorgeous blooms 💐 by @thekalenextdoor
