Congratulations to Coach DeTamble who was honored by CIF this evening. He was awarded the “Jim Staunton Champions for Character” Award! Way to represent coach! Well deserved! by @shadowhillsad

This is my proudest accomplishment as a coach so far in my 1st year. These Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores all got honor roll. 26 of our football boys were on this list. I can’t tell you how proud I am of not only these boys but all of the Shadow Hills Athletics Program and everyone at Shadow Hills. The culture and program is changing for the better 📈📈 and I am so proud to be apart of it.

Athletic Commissioner: Knights in 3 by @shadowhillsad

Today, we pause to remember and honor the 13 American service members who made the ultimate sacrifice on August 26, 2021, at Abbey Gate in Kabul, Afghanistan, during the final days of the U.S. withdrawal.

Among those heroes was our own Cpl. Hunter Lopez, a proud Marine whose life, service, and sacrifice continue to inspire our community.

To our Shadow Hills students, alumni, staff, community members, the Palm Desert Marine Corps Recruiting Station, and especially the Lopez family, thank you for standing with us today and helping us honor Hunter and the other 12 service members who never made it home.

A special thank you to the Indio Police Department, Officer Correra, and Officer Lopez for helping direct traffic and keep everyone safe during the run. Your support meant so much to our event and to everyone who participated.

For military veterans, and especially for Marines, August 26, 2021 is more than a date in history. We remember the brothers and sisters who were serving alongside us, the families who received the phone call no family should ever have to receive, and the responsibility we carry to never forget their names or their sacrifice.

The Marine Corps teaches us that we never leave a Marine behind. Even after the uniform is hung up and our service has ended, that bond remains. When one Marine falls, Marines remember. We carry their stories, we honor their families, and we make sure their sacrifice was not in vain.

Today, we ran in Hunter’s honor. We ran for the 13. We ran for their families. And we ran to remind the next generation that freedom comes with a cost, and some paid the ultimate price.

Cpl. Hunter Lopez, Never Forgotten.
August 26, 2021, Remember the 13.
Semper Fidelis. 🇺🇸🦅⚔️

Thank you to everyone who showed up, participated, supported, and helped us keep their memories alive.

WE REMEMBER. WE HONOR. WE NEVER FORGET. by @shadowhillsad

Parents and athletes, please remember that DSUSD/CIF-SS attendance policies are in effect.

To compete, athletes must:

🏫 Attend ALL scheduled classes on contest days.
⏰ Be on time to every class. Tardies can affect eligibility.
🏃‍♂️ Attend practices and games when you are at school unless excused by your coach.
📲 Communicate directly with your coach if you will be absent or late. Messages through teammates will not be accepted.
🚫 No excuses for unnecessary tardies, especially on game days.

⚠️ ATTENDANCE CHECKS BEGIN THIS WEEK

Athletes who are absent from class or have excessive tardies on a game day will be suspended from that day’s contest.

Being a student-athlete means being accountable, responsible, and punctual.

Parents, please help us reinforce these expectations with your athletes.

💜 BE HERE. BE ON TIME. BE A KNIGHT.
