Those post marathon blues are hitting hard right about now. And Iā€™m already dreaming about my next marathon. My goal for this race was to go out there and have fun. I just wanted to enjoy every minute of it. And I had an absolute blast!! Getting to tour a new city by foot is always fun. This one hit a bit different. The open antisemitism was felt along the course heavily. The flags. The chants. The hate slurs. The awful signs. The name calling. The spitting. It was absolutely disgusting!!!!! Never have I ever felt more proud to show the world, that we, the Jewish people, will not coward. We are not afraid. We are here and are not going anywhere!!!! עם יש×Øאל חי לנצח! This race had so much emotion as I ran right past those haters, head held high, flag waving proudly! But as much hate as I got out there, i received triple the amount of love from so many spectators! I finished this race with a full heart. Sydney, itā€™s been real! Cheers to marathon # 20!!!! And to @hairloungebysarah šŸ’• for being my biggest cheerleader, on the course and off. Your support means the world to me! by @shaindydahan
The marathon. It changes you in more ways than you could ever imagine. This training block went so great for me. I was getting after those miles peaking at 70 for my highest week. The sacrifices, the super early wake ups, the determination. It was all there. But yet, when you toe that starting line, you need everything to just click. And it definitely didnā€™t click for me on Sunday. Unfortunately, I had side stitches that came about during the very first mile, and just stayed there the entire race. Kind of felt like a stabbing knife on my right side for 26.2 miles. I also found myself retching multiple times throughout the course. Ugh. I knew it wasnā€™t going to be pretty. But I also knew that I wasnā€™t ready to throw in the towel. I had to fight for every mile of this race. Every step. It hurt. Bad! Somehow I managed to make it across the finish line. Shattered. Disappointed. I blew it. I missed my goal of a bq that I worked so hard for. But also, so damn proud of myself. I learned, that when it comes to fight or flight, I choose to fight! And fight I did. It may not have been pretty, but I did that! Every race is a new chapter in my story. And I choose to focus on the positive and learn from my experience. Cheers to marathon #19. Massive shoutout to my brother, my coach @run_for_recovery for being there every step of the way! Time to dust myself off, and try again. @forcephysicaltherapy @globol_exercise_performance @run_for_recovery time to get ready for the next chapterā€¦ Sydney marathonā€¦ Iā€™m coming for you . 3:36:08 . Next time, we break that by @shaindydahan
Cozumel šŸ“ø dump. So grateful for beautiful memories with family ! by @shaindydahan
A week ago I ran my first race since November . Since November , I hit a bad burnout along with a persistent injury and the stresses of life , which forced me to take time off running . To be exact, I took 4 months off running . The longest break I ever took. But it was what I needed . I spend hours in pt, strength training and walking until I was finally cleared to start running again. And when I did , I did it super slowly and gradually built back up . I still have a long way to go, but I used this race to see where Iā€™m holding . I ran by feel. Not checking my watch once until I crossed the finish line . Picked up the pace when it felt right to, slowed it down when I felt the effort was a tad too hard . I had a blast . 1:43:26. Whaattt???? I couldnā€™t believe I ran that fast out there , and negative split the course , all by feel. All those slow slow miles I ran, the patience I had to have , the determination to build myself back upā€¦. It all paid off ! Iā€™m super excited to see what else I can do down the line . If you are feeling burnt out , please take the necessary time off! If you are dealing with an injury , treat it , and be patient. I know itā€™s easier said than done , but itā€™s well worth the wait !!!! Huge thank you to my incredible coach who never stopped believing in me.. @run_for_recovery . I could not have done it without you ! Also, it takes a village !!! And Iā€™m blessed to have the best village out there ! Oh, the need to recharge the batteries in life is a real situation. To take time for yourself, to reflect, to do nothing or do anything. Cancun, you have been good to me. @esteezonline , it has been an incredible few days!!!! Wouldnā€™t have been the same without you ā¤ļø letā€™s do it again !!! #annualsiltrip #mexico #cancun #selfcare #goodtimes #friends #sisterinlawā¤ļø #travelbuddy by @shaindydahan

The burnout. Itā€™s a real thing. And when it hits , it could go unnoticed, and then suddenly you loose all motivation to run. It could take a while to come out from a burnout. I would know . As it knocked me off my feet for quite a while . That, along with some other things I was dealing with. So, here I am, starting from scratch and working my way back up. Slowly. One day at a time . One mile at a time. Eventually, with a lot of patience, ill get there. I just wanted to put it out there , that itā€™s ok to take time off to take care of yourself. And ok to have to start as slow as you have to get back to yourself #recovery #backtobasics #onedayatatime #onemileatatime #illgetthere by @shaindydahan
Gosh. Not sure where to begin. But will keep it as real as it gets. This has been a bumpy training cycle for me, and I didnā€™t go into this race in positive headspace . That along with dreadful weather , letā€™s just say this wasnā€™t one of my favorite marathons. Donā€™t worry they told me. You trained in Florida. It should be easy for you they told me . Nope. It was far from that. Yes. It was physically hard. Very hard. My body wanted to stop. But somehow , my legs kept going . Im not ashamed to say that I had to take multiple walking breaks. Even grabbed a bag of ice from a medical tent mid race and poured it down my shirt. Just get to the next mile mark. One more bridge. Last 10k to go. I had to fight for every single mile out there . My mind however , was playing some cruel tricks on me. So many thoughts . So many doubts. Why am I struggling so much . This shouldnā€™t feel this hard . I feel like a failure. Why do I keep thinking I could do this. My legs kept going as I tried to block out all the negative thoughts. Im not sure how , but I made it to the finish line . I did it ! 3:58:09. Far from my finest, but today, today I won another kind of battle. The power of our minds. Itā€™s something Iā€™m going to have to work on for my next training cycle. Self confidence. Self belief. Get out of my own way. Stop being afraid of pushing the limits . These are my goals. And I hope to make myself proud by overcoming all of it. Thank you all for your kind words , support and love along this journey . It means the world to me. Pesach šŸ“ø dump. There is nothing like spending quality time with family ! We are truly blessed to have the opportunity to disconnect from the world and celebrate pesach , with some of my favorite people ! ā¤ļø Cabo, you have been amazing ! I even pulled back , and didnā€™t run as much as I was hoping for , but family is my priority, and was worth not running for. I also had some time to decide on what my next move be now that my A race isnā€™t happening šŸ˜¢ . I could have found another race before the Boston cutoff. But I lost my excitement since another race of mine has been taken away from me . So , I decided to pull back with my training a bit . Take it easy for a bit . And build myself back up , for the New York City marathon !! Yes , I know how hard the course is , and that most people wouldnā€™t choose that race for a BQ attempt. But I got my first BQ there , and Iā€™m coming back for another ! šŸ’ŖšŸ» the road to Boston continuesā€¦#chasingtheunicorn #theroadtoboston #newyorkcity #newyorkcitymarathon #marathon #marathoner #marathontraining #marathonmama #running #run #runner #runnermother #runinaskirt #runningmotivation #keepshowingup #onedayatatime #nevergiveup by @shaindydahan
#medalmondayšŸ… Today I sit back and reflect. Itā€™s been quite the journey, and itā€™s only just beginning . I started running when I turned 30. (Thanks to @ayeletbee ā¤ļø) when I crossed my very first finish line in January 2015, I never for a second though I would still be doing this today. Continuing to push on and run , lead me to putting together the most amazing, first ever , Team Hatzalah ! Together with 35 amazing runners , we collectively raised over $70,000!!!!! Iā€™m so so grateful to every single one of you who donated towards my run , gave me words of encouragement, and supported me. Thank you to my awesome runners!!!!!! Without you, none of this was possible ! Biggest thank you to B202!!!! @brooklynsaul , who ran the the 5k yesterday in his massive hatzalah bag !!!! Thank you for holding my hand every step of the way, for picking me up when I was down , and for making sure that everything fell into place ! I am the proud wife of 202! ā¤ļø#proudwifeof202 #proudwife #hatzalah #hatzalahwife #teamhatzalah #run4hsf #run #runner #runforacause #halfmarathon #305halfmarathon #runmiami #runnerforlife #dreambig #achievebig #whateverittakes Team Hatzalah 2022!!! by @shaindydahan
